C-span insults Spain voters with moronic "daily questions"
This morning the question on C-span was something like "Is the Spain election a victory for the terrorists?" I don't remember the exact wording.

This is an insult to Spanish voters to question their intellect or right to elect the people they want. I was truly embarassed that Europeans may be able to get C-span. One lady called Spaniards cowardly because they didn't vote for a puppet of Bush.

There is, of course, no proof that the bombings are the reason Aznar's party lost. US pundits are mad because Aznar's party was ahead in the polls by a few pctg. points right before the bombings, and it must have cost him the election. OK, then let's just elect people using poll numbers. If Kerry is ahead of Bush on October 31, he wins the election.

C-span is disappointing. They should know better than to use bait questions like that.

1. Most Spaniards have more political awareness
in their little finger than they typical RW American has in his entire cerebral cortex.

2. I've been writing letters to CNN and MSNBC
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 03:08 PM by proud patriot
here's my last one :

Gosh Americans like me are so lucky to have MSNBC to interpret world events
for us . That what you do with questions like this ...You the kind ! "when did you stop
beating your wife ?" .....77% of the Spanish population turned out to vote . Why isn't that the story ?

Has America ever had a Turnout that big ?

Why have so many Americans given up on Voting ?

Why do Americans everywhere say " it doesn't matter if I vote all
politicians are corrupt" ?

I'm out here trying to get people to care again , and MSNBC
doesn't help with STUPID questions like this .

The Spanish People Won the Election ..
The Iraq War had nothing to do with the war
on Terrorism ...Why isn't Karen Kaiwalski(sp?)
being interviewed ?

I'll be voting for Kerry in the Election because that is what
is best for America ....

If bush loses will that be a win for the terrorist ?

How dare you link countries vote to terrorism like this .

This question is pure W.H. campaign rhetoric , you do yourself
a disservice to your journalistic integrity by posing it for the W.H.
campaign to Mislead the American People .

Yours Sincerely ,
******** * ********

3. I like the one who called in , big tough guy talker, who called the
Spanish people "cowards" If nothing else, it did bring to the forefront how stupid , ingnorant and uneducated the people in this country who vote for idiots like Bush can be.

4. For about 2 weeks, it's been "All-R-All-The-Time"
Instead of intelligent questions, they have used the DUMBEST ones I have seen in a while..

An appropriate question would have been..

Do you think Spain's election was affected by the Aznar administration's lies about ETA?

or

Is supporting Bush dangerous to other countries?

6. Score one for SoCalDem
I listened in this morning and I was amazed how virtually none of the callers on the "sane" side, i.e. those who believe Spaniards made a rational political choice, brought up Aznar's willfully misleading his own country about the likely source of the attack. That's what did him in.

If he'd come right out and said, "We beleive it's al-Qaeda, and we are determined to catch these monsters," his party might have still won. Instead, all he did was remind people how they were lied to in the first place in the run-up to the Iraq war. It was too much for most voters to tolerate. I call that a normal response to bad behavior by polticians, not terrorist appeasement.

5. i'm getting sick of Cspan. Yesterday they had on G. Gordon Liddy
But today's question took the cake.

Hey good letter to MSNBC.

I felt like calling Cspan with this: "If George Bush wins the election, I think the next day the Spanish media should ask their people this question - 'Is the American election a victory for fascism?' thank you."

its framing THEIR national tragedy (and the subsequent reaction) to OUR "war on terror."

typical american arrogance assuming that every sovereign nation should act in a way that is most convient for us.
