MSNBC: new polls show Bush "HANDILY" beating Kerry, even w/o Nader
anybody seen any of them?

no stories here or at LBN on this

where to go to find the source of these polls.....I'm assuming they must be out there.

Plus===>during the report, Kerry's "embedded" reporter was snarkily commenting on Kerry's appearance in WVA, where said reporter sorta made fun of Kerry's comments on the rethug "attack machine"

they showed Kerry saying "attack machine," but neglected to let the clip continue long enough to reveal the source of his response to the latest fetid mass of propaganda spewing from the cessmill.

contrast that with most networks' loving presentation of each new pug attack ad, usually played in full. I've seen about two or three instances of them playing anything by Kerry, moveon.org, in conext of a news story.

Anyone else notice this wide disparity?

Anyone else getting as sick of these donations in kind by the media?

2. They're going to try and convince America that Bush is a shoo-in.
They'll let the natural desire to go with a winner work from there. We can only hope it backfires like Dewey Defeats Truman did in 1948.

Keep hammering, Kerry, keep hammering.

3. And just what the hell is "handily"? That's a highly subjective term.
Handily to me implies a 10% margin at least. I doubt very seriously Bush is beating Kerry by 10%.

Perhaps they're referring to the recent poll which had Bush at 44%, Kerry at 38%, and Nader at 7%. We've already established here at DU that that particular poll is a crock of shit.

8. beat me on this, I think......another thread said this
CBS/N.Y. Times poll shows Bush/Kerry 46/43, but WITH Nader, dumbo stays the same, Kerry falls to 38%, with Nader getting SEVEN!!!???!!!

I'd have to agree with the idea that there's got to be something smelly about those numbers, esp the seven percent solution.

MSNBC and AOL come out with polls today that say Bush wins. Hannity starts discusing cancellation of elections in the event of an attack. It's not a coincidence. It will contine the rest of the the year now.

They had the NYTimes thing as mentioned on all day and their ticker kept using words like "narrowly", etc. So what did they parade out?? Gallup showed today a poll that only 39% of the people think this country is going in the right direction and that Bush's approval rating is right at 50%.

Suzanne Malveaux just cited NYT poll saying that voters "have doubts about Kerry's convictions"

huh?

CNN is just slobbering over themselves, hammering Kerry by showing Bush AND some other pug slamming him over the foreign support for Kerry, challenging him to name names.

14. Richard Holbrooke is NAILING Wolf
on the BS about foreign leader's Kerry support

Holbrooke has been to Africa, Asia, Europe over the past few months and said EVERY SINGLE leader to whom he spoke was anti-Bush.

Wolf says, if that's true, why don't you name names?

Holbrooke said that Wolf, as a "correspondent" should know better than to ask him to reveal sources.

Wolf then blathers about the NINEY COUNTRIES supporting dumbo in the WOT, to which Holbrooke responds by saying: you mean mighty countries like Palau?

making mincemeat of that beared clam.\

he also asked Wolf to poll CNN foreign correspondents to get a key view of just how much the chimp is reviled. his only response was to use the idiotic cite of the number of countries supporting him on the WOT

18. Just a note: Kerry has to get some money now and get some damn
ads going AND they cannot be response ads to Bush's shit only. 98% of them have to fling the kitchen sink at Bush. I'm sensing a lull that I don't like. The drum beat of all ads has to be: liar liar liar liar. He has to make Bush the liar he is. Not just the lie that got us into Iraq but all the other lies of promises and then doing the opposite. The lies he insists on keeping covered about SA and 9/11 and the Wilson leak and who was in Bush's office planning how to rape Americans in a fake energy crisis. The one thing I will not tolerate anylonger is having all these endless lists of things to attack Bush on and having a candidate pick a couple mushy things, repeat them a billion times during the campaign and make us look like we really don't have anything much on the great man. Kerry said "bring it on"---well now Kerry has to pile on the shit so thick that Bush can't come up for air. Let's get this damn thing going......I'm not a patient woman.

23. absolutely! I agree
with that approach. Kerry has got to shed that deeply embedded in Washington politics good old boy image and go on the attack. He absolutely has to do this. If he loses, at least he has given us a run for it instead of rolling over and "playing it smart". He will lose me if that is to be his approach.

Lies--that is it. LIes and lies and more lies and everytime Bush lies, which is becomeing everyday it seems, Kerry has got to call him on it as a lie. And has to do forcefully.

35. I was in Illinois this weekend, lots of Bush ads,
even with the election there. Radio in Ohio had some. W. PA is being swamped with Bush ads.
I'm more worried now, the cost of all the Bush ads are a drop in the bucket for them and their two hundred million $ budget and Kerry is trying to get enough bucks to run a few ads to respond. I sense the media is really backing Bush harder now, TV news is biased more than ever. Kerry has no chance on the radio. Its all owned by the right-wing.

20. those CNN ASSES just showed the latest attack ad, airing ONLY in WVA
Now you KNOW it's going to be shown nationwide!

really repellent ad, btw, showing Kerry voting NO on body armor, then NO on something else in support of troops, then NO on something else, punctuated by suitably dramatic music

WHEN is Kerry (or 527 surrogate) going to start running ads of his own?

and will the media air them?

wolf asks why Bush didn't give troops body armor...it was up to him, and he didn't do it

asswipe pug shill Terry Holt says that Kerry voted against body armor, against combat pay raise for troops

to his feeble credit, Wolf said that over 100,000 troops were already THERE......BEFORE the additional 87 billion was appropriated, and they didn't have the proper armor THEN, so how can Bush blame him for THAT?

At that time the rats will leave the sinking ship and try and sign on with Kerry to maintain access and salvage what
they can of whatever perks they have received from Bushco. I'm not surprised they are trying to drum up some support. My gut tells me that this is all coming to a head though and that at some point
they will have to make a choice. There is a stench of desperation
that I haven't felt before.

26. they didn't care about access during the WJC inquisition, though
it was hammer dems 24/7

remember?

they know upon which side their bread is buttered

if they'd have done one TENTH the reporting on dumbo they did on Clinton, he wouldn't even have gotten nominated, much less selected.

just think about Harken, Arbusto, Funeralgate, not to mention the fricking DRUGS he took for years and years.

the most stunning development, to me, of the entire campaign sham was when Bush said he wouldn't talk about his drug days, and the media, just SAT there, and said, Oh, OK. Fair enough. !!!!!!!!

can you imagine if that had been their attitude about Whitewater, Paula Jones, or the blue dress, not to mention Kathleen Willey or Gennifer Flowers?

we'd be in the midst of Gore's re=election campaign right now.

it's own set of facts and if things do reach critical mass
with Bush and I believe, or need to believe that they will
then they will not have any choice. Of course they were
relentless with Clinton, they had the full support and
encouragement of the corporate world. They have the same
support now to prop up the loser squatting in the WH. What I am saying is I believe that there will be a time when they will
need to save themselves and they will do so.

28. save themselves from what/whom?
do you think that they won't find similar BS upon which to base similarly, uh, baseless attacks (congressional/senatorial "inquiries") as soon as he assumes office.

did you ever read Liberty Under Siege, by Walter Karp?

they went after Bert Lance almost immediately after Carter took office, starting the pug tactic of endless investigation/scandalmongering that carried over to WJC.

Additionally, DINOs like Scoop Jackson, Jim Wright, and Tip ONeill foiled Carter at every turn, from the getgo, even keeping his VERY FIRST appointment (DCIA) from reaching the Senate floor for a vote, despite having a filibusterproof majority.

media will turn on Kerry just as they did on Clinton....just watch

I only hope they get a chance to turn on President Kerry, after they've sharpened their teeth on candidate Kerry.

Meanwhile, I don't see Kerry doing what he needs to do: speak over the heads of the media handmaidens, just as Carter should have done while he had his narrow window of opportunity to do so, right after he took office. He didn't realize, though, that his own party leadership was against him, cause he wanted to rock the boat with such outlandish programs as enery conservation/independence and campaign finance reform, the two cornerstones of his presidency.

that book is a real eye-opener, and demonstrates why Nader/Greens make the point they do about the similarities between the parties

NOT, to be sure, that now's the time to support a Nader candidacy

30. me, too...but their track record would indicate otherwise:
WTF happened to AWOL, for instance?

did you see the latest story, linked here, then forgotten, about his physical "failure" very probably having to do with the fact that his F102 had nuclear capability, and, as such, he was subject to very stringent drug/alcohol abuse sanctions, not to mention the institution of random drug testing in April/72?

what happened to THAT story?

it also begs for someone to insist on pugs coming clean about WHY they insist that dumbo has release ALL his TANG records, when he CLEARLY has not.

ALSO, FOIA requests are NO LONGER being honored, AND the National Guard historian, or somesuch, has been instructed by the PENTAGON to refuse to answer ANY more questions about dumbo.

WHY are THESE significant aspects of the story being completely ignored?

I just googled, trying to find that piece, which is very damning, and couldn't find it

37. that's the ONE!!!!!! the Neiwert blog has the article I was looking for
http://www.spokesmanreview.com/breaking-news-story.asp?submitDate=200431401040

shouldn't this be DYNAMITE for the media, not to mention the Achordate Party spokespeople?????????

At the National Guard Bureau, now headed by a Bush appointee from Texas, officials last week said they were under orders not to answer questions.

The bureau's chief historian said he couldn't discuss questions about Bush's military service on orders from the Pentagon.

‘‘If it has to do with George W. Bush, the Texas Air National Guard or the Vietnam War, I can't talk with you,” said Charles Gross, chief historian for the National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C.

Rose Bird, Freedom of Information Act officer for the bureau, said her office stopped taking records requests on Bush's military service in mid-February and is directing all inquiries to the Pentagon. She would not provide a reason.

how come we're not hearing about this sort of stonewalling all the TIME from Kerry's surrogates?

B* CLEARLY has NOT released all his military records.....forget about the medical ones.

there's SO much more in this article.

it deserves constant exploitation

why is it being ignored?

not that any of this means a thing, UNLESS it represents a permanent corner-turning, with the press also PERMANENTLY siding with the chimp again, just as they did in 2000.

is this a key moment?

is the tide turning in the indescribable's favor?

I've been watching the media coverage today, and it's been UNMERCIFUL against Kerry, using the foreign leader/terror memes against him, with either ZERO countering by dems, or feckless wimps coming to Kerry's aid

for example, fricking Tweety has JOHN FUND, Howard Fineman, Mrs. Greenspan, and Jacques de Graf, discussing that phony ad with phony reporters

unless you can manipulate polls, especially exit polls. So if you believe that there are plans in place to manipulate voting machines, there would have to be equally effective plans to manipulate polls.
