An attack on the US benefits Bush..
because the rightwing corporate media spins dogma such as: repubs=strong defense, dems=weak defense

another "terrorist" attack on the US will tilt election toward Bush

I know this defies logic, after all, it was Bush's watch that 9/11 happened on and it would obviously be his watch again if another attck were to occur. But again, the rightwing corporate media spins the lie that republicans are somehow strong on defense.

Kerry needs to challenge these lieing bastards on "defense" issues. Kerry is going to have to expose the lies and deceptions that these fascsists are involved in.

1. This is why I think having a VP like Clark helps.
Clark will likely be perceived as strong on defense.

But other Dems bring other great qualities to the ticket also, so I'll be happy with whomever JFK selects.

2. An attack on the US seems like a poor advertisement
for the Republican party after spending their way through 87B on Iraq alone to make us safer.

I think that Rove needs to go to bed every night praying that aQ is never able to repeat 911, because everyone remembers the phrase 'Bring 'em on!' far too well.

It would not rebound as they hope.

3. True, however. . .
I even hate to think about it but.

One attack would help Bush, however 12 would make him look soft on domestic security.

4. The Chimp has bragged that there have been no terra attacks
on US soil since 911

(of course he forgets the anthrax attacks, the shoebomber, the DC snipers, the ricin mail attack agains the WH in 2003 and the ricin attack against Frist's senate office - but we won't mention those...)

Another terra attack would not be good for the Chimp's protector-o'-'Merica image.

5. Yep it would
but I think even his most ardent supporters would begin to have doubts - you know, the ones who refuse to read, accept or believe for 1 second that they pulled off 9/11. Certainly it would backfire????

6. Just Look At Spain
Do you think Americans will react much differently from the Spanish? When a shitball leader allows an attack he gets tossed out of office. They just hit it lucky in that their elections came so closley after the attack. We'd do the same thing.

8. No we wouldn't.
Unfortunately, too many Americans are quite comfortable being lied to.

11. I think it would mean re-election for Bush.
If nothing else, there'd be a bunch of people shouting, "Don't let the terrorists decide for you, thus vote Bush!" (How ironic that people would be so compelled to spite terrorists...) I think Bush would get a victory out of a terrorist attack. While I don't think he'll incite one (I have little faith in this administration but I don't think it's out to kill Americans), I'm sure the GOP would take advantage of an attack. Which is why I want the country on as high alert as possible before the election.

7. I tend to disagree...
I have the feeling that the voting public are beginning to come full circle and realize that the 'war on terrorism' in Iraq places a giant target upon the coalition countries involved. not to say that America has not been in that spotlight for some time now, however I feel that this is the overall sentiment of the voters in this country, and to sustain another attack of 9/11 magnitude would not rally the public behind W.

9. All we need is a red alert
An attack may not benefit Bush, but raising the terror alert level to red would. What if they announce on October 29th that there is credible information that terrorist are about to attack our country. We are put on red alert. They screw around for a day or so, feeding the frenzy about the "terrorists" that are going to attack any minute now, you're not safe anywhere, they will come get you. Bush plays this stunt out until November 1st, arrest a few "terrorist", drags out an elaborate plan on how they were going to disrupt our elections and have the lapdog media say over and over again what a wonderful job the president did..what a wonderful man of strength and conviction.....thank god he's president. The sheeple would buy this, because they are stupid and so thankful that Bush saved their butts.

10. To paraphrase Mr. Bush: Fool us once..
And we had a desk by the window. And we watched the squirrels. And the squirrels were merry. Fool us again, and we'll burn this place down.
