Co. Senate: Repugs choose RW nutjob run against Dem. Salazar
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 06:41 PM by Touchdown
Former Congressman Bob Schaffer is now set to be the nominee for Colorado's open Senate seat, vacated by turncoat Ben Nighthorse (he named himself that) Campbell.

3. Colorado
If Boulder and Denver can get out in force...there is a good shot Salazar can win. But keep in mind, much of Colorado is religiously insane. I live in Colorado Springs, home of Focus on the Family, and being liberal is about as depressing as it can be in this area. There aren't too many moderate sized cities in the country that are entirely one-sided, but, sadly, this is one. Unfortunately, this nutjob has a good shot.

5. Some will -
But, I think we have a real chance of picking up a Senate seat here.

Salazar will bring out the Hispanic vote - and I think that could even bring CO into play in the presidential election.

2. isn't his district now held by Marilyn Musgrave?
she is such a vile, disgusting person. Anyone elected in a district capable of electing her can't be much better.

Looks like we might have this seat.

6. Musgrave's motto, from her website -
"Defending our way of life through conservative leadership".

:puke:

Colorado is such a weird place - Ft Collins (Larimer County) is in her district, and is actually fairly liberal. Unfortunately, the rest of her district stretches east to the Kansas border, and is pretty much an extension of western Kansas. Rabidly Conservative.

For many years I lived in Boulder and worked in the Greeley area. Some of those little towns - Ault, Windsor, LaSalle - it was right wing militia central. Then I'd go home to ultra liberal Boulder - talk about living in two different worlds!

It made me
