Signs posted at our local movie theater:
"There will be NO refunds and NO exchanges for Passion of the Christ movie tickets."

These were large signs near each ticket agent station. I asked why the need for the signs. The agent told me that a number of people were bringing in tickets which had been purchased in large quantities by churches and other organizations and trying to obtain cash refunds.
I wonder how many have used these tickets to enter the theater and then slipped in to see another movie after getting passed the ticket collectors?

5. Whether the ticket was actually used
or not, it was purchased. That means it is part of the true box office number.

3. Theaters Have Similar Policies
regarding refunds and exchanges of tickets for just about any film that is a big box-office success.

I've seen signs and messages in theater ads in newpapers for other movies that were big box-office successes.

I've gotten to the point where I hardly even notice them now.

4. I've never seen signs like that
And in NJ, home of the all-American scam, that's really saying something.

Sounds like they are doing the same thing with these tickets as the r-w does with the books and the bestseller list.

10. I wonder if they're having a hard time with new ticket sales for Passion
when they have a big sign that says "NO REFUNDS FOR PASSION" letting people know that everyone wants their money back.

Before I got to the end of the original post, I had the impression that people wanted their money back AFTER they saw it!

11. hmmm
I saw that same sign at a theatre back home (saw Starsky and Hutch), and I'd asked the cashier about it...she refused to answer.

12. I wonder how many are turning in tickets to get money for food?
wouldn't that be a joke...buying people tickets when the money could have been better spent actually on charitable work...
