is another one of those funny Warren Buffet links to 9/11. Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Inc is heavily invested in SunTrust.

Whenever I see the name Raytheon, my tinfoil starts to spark. A leader in remote flight technology and deeply steeped in the military-industrial complex. Four Raytheon employees, I believe, flew on three of the sparsely-occupied 9/11 flights. After the attacks, Raytheon landing strips were used to shuttle the Saudis and bin Ladens out of the country.

Authorities are probing the European business associations of a Venice flight school owner, whose school at the Venice airport trained the nucleus of foreign national terrorist pilots, looking for possible links to international organized crime groups, reported by the San Francisco Chronicle on Sunday to be laundering large sums of drug money for major terrorist organizations. Organized crime said to launder billions for terrorists. Three of the airliners involved in the September 11th terrorist attack—two in Manhattan, and one wrested to the ground over Pennsylvania—were piloted by terrorists who had trained at two flight schools at the Venice, Florida airport.

Dekkers was widely interviewed on television after the disaster expressing outrage over the terrorist attacks, and disclaiming any responsibility for the actions of former students. But he may have been lying in his portrayal of his association with the men who became eventual terrorist pilots, when he repeatedly stated they were people who had just basically "walked in" off the street into his school at the tiny Venice airport.

Instead, Rudi Dekkers was actively marketing his flight school in Germany at the exact same time Mohamed Atta and his terrorist cell left Hamburg and moved to Florida, where several immediately enrolled in his school. Both ringleaders, Mohamed Atta and Marwan Alshehri, each believed to have piloted a plane into the World Trade Center Towers, learned to fly at Huffman Aviation flight school in Venice, Fla.

Experts have been wondering how a conspiracy of such size and duration could have gone unnoticed by US intelligence agencies and law enforcement.

At least 15 of the far-flung network of terrorist pilots got their money from the same (so far-unnamed) source. While in the Venice area last year, the terrorist suspects opened checking accounts during the summer.

We called someone who used to work at something like the CIA. "How could the Agency not have known about 15 foreign pilots all paid from one source?"

I used to work at a small airport and there was a company there who specialized in foreign visitors getting licenses. They had instructors who spoke other languages and were always busy. Apparently in other countries is far more expensive and harder to get a pilots license. It was cheaper to come to the us, live here for a few months and get the liscence than to do it at home.

The Venice Airport, now notorious for two Dutch-owned flight schools which trained three of the four terrorist pilots in the Sept. 11 attack, has been utilized in covert U.S. operations since the earliest days of the Cold War, according to a top local law enforcement official.

"Venice was even targeted by the Soviet Union in the event of nuclear war, because of the military nature of certain activities taking place at the Airport," the official said.

During the Vietnam War pilots were trained in Venice for the paramilitary operations of CIA-proprietary Air America, stated the official. So too were bush pilots, a decade-and-a-half later, during the conflicts in Central and South America during the Iran-Contra era.

Since most of the hijackers used Florida as their home base while they were in this country, and since 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis, a big part of the story of the terrorist conspiracy that attacked America is, perforce, a story about "Saudis in Florida." And the company's name that kept coming up again and again in connection with stories of Saudis in Florida is that of major U.S. defense contractor Raytheon.
