Dean bashers: What are you afraid of?

I'm hoping Wesley Clark runs, but of the declared candidates, Dean is my man. The fact that the mainstream media is raising the spectre of Mondale and Dukakis makes me think Dean must be proposing some radical ideas like making corporations obey the law and pay their fair share of taxes - and obviously the corporate media whores couldn't have THAT.

So spill it - what are you afraid of? Dean obviously has more charisma than the rest of the field (excepting the Rev. Al) combined. His policies are quite moderate, but make sense to a lot of people - including that vast cluster of people who really don't consider themselves political.

Is it that Karl Rove allegedly said he hopes his trained monkey gets to run against Dean? Do you honestly put any stock in anything that overrated Machiavelli wannabe says? If that's the case, go join the Green Party, and leave the real battle to those of us with some balls.

I'll vote for the nominee whoever it is.

But in fact, I don't find Dean at all charismatic. When I saw him on the SC debates, I was really put off by the way he came across as temperamental, annoyed and annoying. I don't think he's ready for prime time.

This is my personal opinion, but I'm not alone in it. It has nothing to do with Karl Rove or fear. Please don't hit me. ;)

Graham's cool too - I like all of them (even Lieberman), but I like how Dean energizes people and defies a lot of left-right labels.

I'll support whoever the nominee is too. I'm a Democrat - no ifs, ands, or buts.

I am an Independent and was pretty apolitical most of my life. First voted in 1992! I am a Dean supporter and I mean SUPPORTER. I have donated to his campaign (never donated before), go to Dean Meetups etc. There is something about this man that draws people who don't consider themselves political. Believe me, I know, my sister is one of them as well as a bunch of other people. At the meetups, we actually have some Repugs...yeah, Repugs...

I am so sick of the "brainwashed, groupie" Dean thang. No, I am not brainwashed. I first saw Dean OVER a year ago and he impressed me then. No typical pol.

Take a look at Time Magazine this month. Who's on the cover? Gee, it's Dean...He will be our next president. You heard it here.

I like Clark, and my dream team would be Dean/Clark.

16. If Dean makes Kucinich his partner or at least learns Kucinich's

economic ideas and uses them as president, I'd be one happy guy, and if he gives Dennis his due credit I'd be happy. Dennis deserves a promotion, let it be either in the white house or the vice president's house.

I'm so sick of the insults like "pod people" and "brainwashed". I support Dean because he speaks to issues that affect me in a direct and clear manner. I support him (financially and politically) because he speaks for people like me who are sick of the status quo.

I will vote for whoever wins the nomination, but if other candidates' people and campaign staffers keep calling me a "pod person", "brainwashed", or "Kool-Aid Kid" (Jim Jones reference I've gotten elsewhere), they're only creating unnecessary friction with potential voters. Get over it. Point out your candidates' positives, don't throw mud all over the place. Leave that to the Rescumlicans.

17. The Mondale and Dukakis comparisons are valid

to anyone that doesn't think the world began a couple of years ago like most Dean supporters who woke up one day and discovered politics.

Afraid? HA! You guys are just the latest bunch to come down the pike in the last 35 years that were going to change the world. There will be others after you've picked up your marbles and gone home.

Personally, I like Dean. I don't think he's electable and I'm not supporting him unless he gets nominated, but I like him.
