Coke recalls controversial water

Coca-Cola is to recall all bottles of its Dasani water in the UK, after levels of bromate were found to exceed legal levels.

The recall is an embarrassment for the drinks giant, which has faced criticism for selling what is treated and purified tap water.

The Food Standards Agency describes bromate as "a chemical that could cause an increased cancer risk as a result of long-term exposure, although there is no immediate risk to public health".

Wow, just great. Not only that one has to pay over a dollar for half a liter of London Tap Water in a nice plastic bottle, but it is a health hazard as well. Way to go Coke.

1. On a personal note

The reason I find this hilarious is that I get Arrowhead water delivered to the house which I offer my sister (who is chronically underfunded) for free...she always says, "No I like Desani"...my sister is a "germ freak."

I emailed this story when it broke...pointing out she'd drink tap water over actual spring water that comes from LOCAL mountains.
