He knows his audience is not well-read or knowledgable, so he coasts. He doesn't do homework anymore. He's like Bush; he reads a snippet of a complex issue then starts pontificating. But like the other wingers, he runs a fixed fight so he's never challenged. He'd fare no better than Dennis Miller did with Eric Alterman and he's smart enough to know this; so he keeps it rigged. He used to be more moderate. He'd hangup on men railing against abortion. But then his masters told him no more meat unless you deliver only rightwing rhetoric, so he starting shamelessly whoring for the right. He left his principles in the same closet as Colin (I have pages and pages of WMD sites in Iraq) Powell.
