570 pairs of boots in presentation marking one year of war (Chicago)

Passers by stop to look at the 570 pairs of boots representing the number of U.S. soldiers who died during the war in Iraq (news - web sites), shown at an exhibit at Loyola University's Chicago campus, March 18, 2004. The exhibit coincides with the approaching one-year anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq. REUTERS/Frank Polich

3. How about thousands upon thousands of pairs
of Iraqi footwear? (Sandals, maybe?)

Of course, we'd have to subtract a few for all the legs we've blown off. :puke:

4. Heartbreaking ...
then include the American civilians who now have been killed,
and the injured and maimed,
and as mentioned above, the Iraqis who have been killed (and we are keeping them safer?)
and add in those citizens of Iraq who have been injured

and you fill up an entire walmart with the shoes of all those harmed by this (I think, I have never been there, so I really don't know how big they are, but thought I would inject the economy too)

5. Very sad.
I hope this will sink into peoples' brains.

But there is hope. My redneck nephew agreed with me that getting rid of Saddam was not worth the human cost. This is someone who doesn't watch the news, doesn't vote, and knows nothing of politics. He only recently obtained a GED at 32. I'm mighty proud of him, considering my whole family is composed of brainwashed, bigotted repukes.
