Nothing sucks like an Oreck.
Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

So, what's up with the Oreck vacuum cleaner company lately? I just saw them advertising during Crossfire. Yesterday I saw one of their ads in The Nation. Change of heart? Are they good guys now? Trying to have it both ways? What's up with this? Anybody know what's what?

1. wish I knew ...
 With dogs, I have to vacuum often and I must admit that the 8lb Oreck sucker does make my life easier and my house cleaner. I sure hope they are, or are becoming, good guys. But it wouldn't surprise me if they were playing both sides of the fence.

Meanwhile the critters are shedding their winter coats, so I gotta do what I gotta do. At least I avoid Sprawlmart ...

2. Dust and dirt are non-partisan
Best I can come up with.

My mother won't drink Snapple because Rush Limbaugh endorsed it.

3. I know there was a movement about 6 months ago because
they were rush supporters...I wrote and stated that I would not purchase an Orek..and they answered my e-mail...who knows?? If small business (maid services) purchase Orek's more than the 'business sectors(who do no care about the weight of a vaccuum???)...maybe they have had a change of heart?? I hope so!!...

Thanks for the update on their new advertising campaign!!!

4. Maybe Oreck is learning that they're not compatible with Rush.
Maybe their vacs don't pick up all of the painkillers you inadvertently drop on the floor, and Rush had a fit over it.
