Just talked to a news anchor in Ireland
Edited on Fri Mar-19-04 05:45 PM by Mari333
Sunday is mothers day in the UK and Ireland..they want me to speak on the radio there as a Mum of a young man in Iraq, so I will. I was told by the news anchor there that there is a MAJOR meeting in Brussels tomorrow by TONS of world leaders concerning the terrorist threats all over the world and how to deal with the Bu$h admin policies in Iraq..WHY ISNT THIS ON THE NEWS HERE?????
anyway she is interviewing me tomorrow..she also asked me how I felt about Bu$h going to Dublin and I told her
"Keep him we dont want him here..protest his presence..let him know you dont want him despoiling the lovely country of Ireland"...I also mentioned something about "arrest him and put him in prison"..
she laughed..boy do they hate Bu$h in Ireland..
good...

1. I seem to recall Mr. Bush claiming Irish heritage
I cannot be certain, but I remember him suggesting he is part Irish.

3. I am sure Ireland will not accept him as a native son
perhaps he was the afterbirth of a particularly ugly cow in a field somewhere near Cork, but thats all.

6. Yeah, I remember hearing about that in 2000. He claimed his
family was from Rathrfiland in Co. Down. That particular town is about 3 miles away from where my husband is from and isn't a particular beauty spot either. My husband refers to it as a "black hole" as you drive into it from his town, you have to pass under an arch erected by the local Orange Hall. ICK!!!

10. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My family is from Ireland on my fathers side....England on my mothers side.

My mothers cousin did a trace on that side of the family once and found a connection to......and I would rather not believe it......I'm sure he made a mistake........it just can't be.......I hope it isn't so.........how can I live with it???????........the Milhouse's.....as in Richard Milhouse Nixon.

How depressing. I'm so ashamed.

And now your telling me that I might even be related to Bush???

Goodbye cruel world!

12. Think of him as the scab that fell off the arse of a sheep once in Ireland
as I said, I would think the Irish would dismiss him as anything even remotely related to them in any way.

2. Yeah, they really hate the Chimpster.
What radio station are you going to be on? RTE or one of the local stations? Just wondering? Let me know and I'll alert the in-laws and friends in the Emerald Isle.

9. They LOVED Clinton
I met with some Irish history professors in Dublin in 2000 and they were literally in tears when they talked of Clinton (well, one was).

I asked them why they loved Clinton so much, "because he cares about us." It was such a simple answer, a simple solution. Blew me away.

No wonder they hate Bush. Exact opposite of Clinton in the "care" department. The "I don't care what you think" attitude.

I was there when Clinton was in office...Havent been back there since Bu$h stole the election, awfully embarassing to show up anywhere outside of the US these days..my husband and I would love to go back to Navan, Trim, Kells..but we wont until that bastard is out of our white house..its far too horrible to be there and be so embarassed by that asshole ...I stay put, and hide from anyone from overseas, until that moron is out of DC

13. The Big Dawg is revered by the
nationalist population in the North. At least Bill Clinton tried to do something about the situation.

Bush has ignored the whole situation because David Trimble, et al, are on his side regarding the war on terror. In fact I think on Wednesday the only officials to be invited to the White House were from the UUP. I'm surprised Chimpy didn't trot out Ian Paisley, after all he received his divinity degree from Bob Jones University.

15. When I was there once, Reagan was pressie and I made a rude remark
about him. I thought the local girl I was talking to
was going to faint. Respect for elders, you know. When the
Irish speak to people in a group, they turn and address the
oldest person first.

Lovely, LOVELY! Ireland.

Give 'em hell, Mari.

Hello, Teddy honey!
