Link between John Kerry and Scaramouche...
Edited on Mon Mar-22-04 12:46 AM by Scaramouche
I was looking for an old article of mine, that was published by DU, to see if weathered the test of time. So I googled, Scaramouche + Bush. and got 2,490 hits. I was astounded by the numer of returns but I found my old article www.democraticunderground.com/articles/02/04/27_conspiracy.html

Firstly, what struck me is that our next President has a boat named "Scaramouche." Why is this being used to paint him as a patrician? Because it sounds French? Scaramouche by Rafael Sabitini is the best historitcal fiction I ever read that argued for meritocracy over entitled birth

Secondly, there is a poster out there in the bloosphere who uses the the same name, posting on insane Right-Wing sites like Little Green Footballs which is a cross between FreeRepublic and a Blog like Instapundit, usually using a little "s" in the name.

on edit: trying to fix the links

Thirdly, all the stuff you post can be found by Google,(just refine your search), typos and all...

Finally, is it worth trying to created a pyseudonom? To protect your privacy and your voice. Hell, I'm proud of Kerryt naming his boat after after a Bastard (the fatherless kind) who fought against aristocracy...

1. I like John Kerry!
I wasn't too sure of him at first, but after hearing some of his speeches, I think he would make a great president. I just hope he gets elected this November!

I especially like the fact that he can read. This non-reading pResident is embarrassing.

5. Scaramouche is very good, I am almost through reading it.

Definitely cool that John Kerry has a boat named Scaramouche.

Have you read any of Sabatini's other books?

6. Here's the others I've read...
Captain Blood was superior to the movie with Errol Flynn (hard to believe as the movie is one of my favorites).

Scaramouche, the Kingmaker is a sequel to the original story. For me it moved slower than the first novel.

There are few others but the names escape me at the moment as I read them 25 years ago. Yet I remember all of Sabatini's books are a wonderful read...
