AGAIN, god knows why - and it strikes me:

uh... isn't keeping a chunk of a 9/11 airplane as a fuckin' COFFEE TABLE CONVERSATION PIECE, mounted on a PLAQUE - a hideous, ghoulish, monstrous thing to do?

As he chirps: "Indeed."

(to which a cynical Karl Rove voice would hiss: "No more so than say, exploiting 9/11 in a series of cheap campaign ads.")

The whole thing has given me a lovely idea for an out-of-context re-edit... A DAY IN THE LIFE OF DONALD H RUMSFELD... There is a weird sadomasochistic tinge to Wolfowitz speaking of having to "wrestle in the mud" with Rummy that just begs for... color.

1. The question on that is
Does Olsen have a piece of the plane on his desk too? Did Rummy offer his piece of the plane. I could almost understand if Olsen did because it might have come for the section his late wife was sitting in. Funny, how no reporter asks this.

I have never seen Olsen interviewed or even mentioned on any of the telescreen channels since 9/11.

Hmmmm.

Then again, I suppose interviewing a guy who thinks its ok for the government to lie doesn't seem very appealing.

And of course, dear Ted isn't very appealing either.
