and the 'PLANNING' of 9/11 happened under Clarke so he must not be good at his job. Those were not her exact words, but she said " Remember Clarke was also the head of counter-terrorism during ...... blah blah blah and started rattling off different things.

Thats the one that stuck out the most.

11. The thrust of her argument is Clarke is an old loser

who had the Cole bombing, et al, happen under HIS watch. Bush* was very concerned about Al Quaeda, he was meeting with Rumsfeld and Powell - the Clarke was out of the loop defense.

She is spinning like crazy, and can't possibly be convincing anyone.

12. It's Bush's fault for lowering the status of the Counter-Terrorist Czar.

He demoted Clarke's position from a cabinet level to a staff position. Therefore, if Bush now claims that he stopped listening to Clarke and started listening to Powell and Rumsfeld, then he supports what Clarke has been saying all along. The Bush Administration stopped listening to the FBI, the CIA and Clarke and instead, followed their own "Get Iraq" policy.

I enjoyed Richard Clarke's portion of the interview because he still sounded as firm as he did on 60 minutes last night. Clarke also said that he was Independant and that he wasn't doing this so he could get a job in Kerry's administration because he's never working in government again. He said he was doing this because people needed to know. And I'm glad he's talking.

But not only that it seem so weak and unconvincing. Too me she sounded like a teenager just caught doing something wrong and trying to prove they didn't. Talking fast and voice really shaking. The other thing I notice and is very glaring is that the so called news people in this case Solad O'Brien can not conduct proper interviews. This Richard Clarke has to testify before the 9/11 commission this week. Does anyone thing that he would like to congress to score some policitical points?
