Question about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Wow... I peeked into the I/P forum and guidelines, and decided not to even dip my toe in there. I'm too uninformed, to be honest, but that is what I am trying to rectify. What I wanted to ask was if anyone had some relatively unbiased, respectable sources for someone who would like to get a better understanding of both sides of the issue. I did a search the web, but then, it's such a passionate subject, that I am not sure what sources to trust.

1. Honestly,

there's no such thing as an unbiased source. Your best bet is probably to get some of the transcripts from the news and put it all together.

Reading a variety of sources seems to give so many contradictions. I was just hoping there might be a good place to give me the basics, since it seems so complicated.

but it is mostly progressives or liberals that are posting, although others are welcome.

I think there are a few very well informed people there
