I doesn't matter if what Clarke says is sour grapes or not.
What the White House can't deny is that they demoted the counter terrorism boss from cabinet level to a staff position. That speaks volumes all by itself. They also can't dispute whether or not Clarke got the meetings he asked for, as all those meetings go down on record and are easily verifiable. Furthermore, Clarke is going to go testify under oath and in public and repeat the same things he just said on TV. Bush* will not testify under oath but will only meet with the comission in private. Rice won't go anywhere the comission at all.

How is the administration going to call Clarke a liar after if he's going to testify under oath by the administration won't?

1. Of course, what were yuo thinking
He lied, since he betrayed the Fuehreer and he will pay a political price... we need to keep them in line.

Now the Administration must be thining, we outed a CIA agent, and Wilson kept at it

O'Neil we accused of stealing Classified information, and he is still at it

What can we do to Clark?

And to DeBeers that one was easy, he went work for Kerry.

Methinks even the most asleep at the wheel in this coutry is starting to see a pattern and it is not a pretty one.

2. I think Hadley steppped all over his tongue last night
IT would have been fun to have a focus group on hand after that interview...there were a few times when Hadley either backtracked on his own statement or made a statement and then recontextualized it to say the opposite such as when he claims that Clarke left his job fully supportive of Bush (paraphrasing)

7. Hadley Was Trying to Give the Impression That Clarke Left
Edited on Mon Mar-22-04 01:21 PM by Beetwasher
the admin. on good terms and thinking that Bush was a good leader. Listening to him equivocate on that was hilarious. He was saying shit like "Well, I BELIEVE when Clarke left he felt that the President was doing a good job...blah blah blah". When pressed he would NOT say that Clarke ever SAID anything of the sort, only that Hadley believed that was how Clarke felt. Really stupid shit. Then Clarke would get on and essentially say unequivocally that Bush is a failure on terrorism...It was pretty amazing seeing them juxtaposed like that...

3. He is going to be harder to discredit than Paul O'Neill!
Having been hired by Reagan and all.

What will happen when he testifies? This is going to be interesting.

Also, he seemed angry, and not as concerned with the consequences as O'Neill.

The key will be whether we get a "backpedaling" statement from him, like we have from so many others once the thugs get to them.

5. I don't think it is sour grapes at all
I think the time for truth arrived after O'Neil's exposure. I also think there is more to come.

I just saw a blip of Rice and her rebuttal--she looked insane--talking rapidly like some dolls I have seen that have a little tape recorder in their back--she nodded and nodded and shook her head and performed like she was taught in all the CEO classes on how to win friends and influence people--except it rings hollow and I can only hope that the majority of Americans can see right through the shallow, phoniness of Rice--indeed through all of them in theWhite House that are just practiced robots.

Apparently O'Neil and Clark, refused to be robots. For htat they deserve accolades and medals, not smears and spins from those who are rotting at their very core, like Rice.

6. How's this analogy
Since shrub is our first MBA president, it's like W is the CEO and his top accountant quits and says they're cooking the books. Can you ignore that?

I'd like to see shrub and his team go into the boardroom and The Donald gives it to 'em one by one.
