At the beginning of his broadcast he quoted some conservative strategist that said that liberals see a democratic defeat as inevitable, so they are intensifying their attacks on the right. In the next breath, ol' Rushbo went on to scathingly attack Clarke for saying what he said on 60 Minutes (and CBS for not airing any retorts), Clinton for ignoring all the "signs" that culminated in 9/11 and former president Jimmy Carter for having an opinion that differed with the current admin and having the temerity to say so.

Mr Limbaugh, I agree that the party on the ropes will pick up the rhetorical attack, but who's attacking who here?

Him and his brother are both masters of justifying their own savage attacks on Democrats while claiming that even mild criticism of President Bush is a hate-filled attack.

Now they're sending Rice out, either becuase 1) she is the designate sacraficial lamb or 2) they want to put the Dems in the position of attacking a black woman.

I think they're real strategy is No 2, but it's pretty weak. Anyone remember the black woman on the MSNBC focus group last year with the shirt reading "Condi Rice is *not* my Sister"?
