THE most damning revelation from Clarke

http://stevegilliard.blogspot.com/

"If Richard Clarke is right, and there is every reason to think he is, the US was days, if not hours, away from letting Osama Bin Laden get away with murder.

It seems Rumsfeld wanted to bomb Iraq for 9/11, despite ample evidence Al Qaeda was responsible for the deaths of 3,000 Americans. To a rational person, this would have been a war crime. Bombing the innocent for something we knew they didn't do.

Perle and Wolfwowitz, despite all available evidence, would have let Osama sit in Afghanistan untouched just to get Saddam. The fact that no state would have ever launched a 9/11 attack and not expect a B-2 response was beyond them.

Let's keep this in mind, and it's really simple: the Bush response to 9/11 would have let Osama get away with murder, killing thousands of innocent people. Only the professionals of the CIA and FBI prevented this insanity. When Bush was told that "you'll lose the whole world", was he prevented from attacking Iraq."

----

worth repeating- BUSH'S RESPONSE WAS TO LET OSAMA GET AWAY WITH MURDER...just like he let all the Saudis who have funded terrorism fly out of the U.S. in the preceeding days.

5. "The U.S. shall invade and occupy an oil rich Arab country".
Clarke seemed a tad angered over Boo$h helping to fulfill an Osama prediction.

6. Response to your posted article. One error found.
The fact that no state would have ever launched a 9/11 attack and not expect a B-2 response was beyond them.

No, Rummy and pals knew that; just didn't CARE. They wanted a piece of Iraq. Only this, and nothing more.

7. If in fact Osama Bin Laden had anything at all to do with 9-11
We the people have not seen one shred of evidence that would tie him to the crime. With Bush*'s track record on telling the truth should we just accept what he says as the truth? I don't believe anything from his lips. So I don't believe Osama had anything to do with 9-11. Perhaps if Bush* hadn't of said it????

8. There are really only 3 possibilities:
1. Al Qaeda did it.

2. AQ did it, and Bush let them.

3. Bush arranged it.

Could you elaborate on this?

11. it's my own weird little theory
revenge of the spooks.

Putin could have been pretty high up in soviet intelligence back when we lured the Soviet Union into Afghanistan, only to then fund and train Jihadist muslims against them and eventually kick their ass. He could have decided to suck us into Afghanistan the same way as revenge.

Putin also has some kind of nasty business with Saudi Arabia. Poppy Bush was recently in Russia talking to Putin about God-Knows-What after Putin did his deal with Saudi Arabia .....

Seeing as how Putin did his own bombings in Russia to garner popular support and win elections (blaming them on Chechens) .....

I just have this weird feeling that Russia (Putin anyway) could have been involved in 9/11.

Can't really support it, just a hunch I'd like to explore. :)

13. Russia warned America about an impending attack
as did France, Germany, Israel, and Egypt.

Bin Laden or Al Qaeda was already identified as the person/group behind the Cole bombing, as well as the American Embassy bombings in 98. The UN identified Khalid bin Mahfouz as a sponsor of terrorism at that time as well... bin Laden's brother-in-law, Houston resident, former investor in Harken Energy, and Saudi representative for Delta Oil, in biz with Thomas Kean, 9-11 investigation committee head.

Until there is reason to believe otherwise based upon something other than "got a feeling," Al Qaeda seems to be the best bet for the people who were behind the attacks of 9-11.

Whether others within the United States govt were also aware is another question which deserves an answer, considering the way the Bush administration wanted to use the attacks.

14. Hey, RainDog, talk to me:
I like what you wrote. You appear to know more about this stuff than I do so I want to ask you a question. Do you remember anything about Delmart "Mike" Vreeland?

http://www.guerrillanews.com/intelligence/doc749.html

and

http://www.sanderhicks.com/vreelandsuppfiles.html

As I recall it, VREELAND MAINTAINED THAT THE INFORMATION HE WAS CARRYING DIRECTLY IMPLICATED IRAQ IN 9/11. If I remember correctly, it was, purportedly, a document from one of Sadam's sons TO someone in Russian Intelligence. Vreeland was bringing this document FROM Russia when the Canadian with whom he had worked was assassinated and he, subsequently, arrested and held in Canada.

The WHOLE Vreeland thing was VERY weird on many different levels. Then the man just 'disappeared'.

What I'm getting at is IF VREELAND'S STORY HAD BEEN BELIEVED or IF THE DOCUMENT HE WAS CARRYING HAD REACHED ITS INTENDED PARTY it might well be that there COULD HAVE BEEN documentation of Iraqi ties to 9/11.

This is all deep political, down the rabbit hole, through the looking glass shit. Nothing within it can be taken at face value. It has the appearance of being DESIGNED to self destruct within the mind--the way those tapes used to do on "mission impossible" after they were listened to (if your memory goes back that far).

Something happened but we don't know what it is.

That SOMETHING is STILL HAPPENING, isn't it?

9/11 is one SIGN POST on a HISTORICAL MAP: But the movement of forces that played it out are STILL IN PLAY, aren't they?

What do you think?

15. Just my amateur opinion
I don't know that much about these things, compared to so many, especially, for instance, Paul Thompson at CooperativeResearch.com.

I do remember Vreeland and his warning that there was going to be a terrorist attack while he was in jail in Canada.

My totally speculative opinion is that he was a plant. As in, someone who was given false information with the intended result of developing a line of disinformation.

but I could be wrong, and that's only my opinion.

however, the more I hear about the plan to attack Iraq immediately, the more I think he was a pawn for some group...and I don't know who, exactly, but I can come up with a pretty good list of suspects.

if it does come out that some group within the U.S. was using the upcoming attack to advance their own agenda, that would be a great day for America, in my opinion, because, if it's true, and if it is revealed, that would mean that we would be forced to become a democracy again.

as it is now, we, the people, have no say over activities supposedly carried out in our names, and Congress is a rubber stamp for far more powerful people who have no accountability for their actions or the way they spend money, via all the secret agencies within the govt.

in other words, we have a shadow govt made up of people in intelligence services and the military who are not made accountable for their actions.

17. Thanks for your perspective
It pretty much matches my own. I'm not as optimistic, perhaps, of our becoming a democracy again. The darkness is deep in the American soul.

12. It is a war crime
It is a war crime to invade another country and kill innocent civilians on a trumped up charge.

There is a reason that the Bush administration has refused to cooperate with the international courts set up in Europe, because of their own crimes against humanity.

To the best of my knowledge, Al Qaeda was behind the 9-11 attacks.

America needs an honest investigation into all the events surrounding that attack.

Hopefully the testimony this week will start to shed some light on events for all Americans to see.

Today's WSJ has an article about the lies the Bush administration has told, that are known for sure, surrounding the events of that day.

If we are to survive as a democracy, we must face some truth about what our nation has done and is doing under the guise of security.

One day, and hopefully soon, Americans will have access to the files of our secret agencies, and we will learn more of the activities done in our name. That's what happened when the Soviet Empire fell under the weight of its own corruption and overextension.

16. This is what is most damning about Bush's actions
apparently, the deths of 3000 innocent citizens doesn't mean anything but a political springboard for Bush.

All those dead, Ashcroft felt threatened enough to stop flying commercial airlines and Bush Co. did not bother to tell Americans or to look into it.
when the massacre occurred and Bush was told who did it, it didn't matter!
He saw his political wedge to allow the illegal invasion of Iraq!
Bush, Rummy, Cheny, Wolfowitz,Perle, Frum,Rushbo, Heil Hannity and others have blood on their hands.

All deserve prison time for treason and aiding and abetting enemies from within.

into going after Afghanistan first. That was the price of Blair's loyalty (d@#$ him!)
