One Nation , Under Oath..
Every citizen who has ever had to testify, is asked to "swear on the book", that their testimony will be "the truth, and nothing but the truth". Is it really so odd to expect our leaders to accept their positions, and their quite adequate pay, and yet NOT testify under oath?

If we all take a walk on that path back to impeachment, the "bedrock" of their "case" was the fact that "he lieeeeeed under oath"..They deliberately PUT HIM UNDER OATH, so that they could play gotcha.

The 9-11 issue is so much more important that a sex-lie, yet the very people who "could be" involved in deleliction of duty or flat out lying about the whole thing, are treated like celebrities who might be "offended" if asked to testify under oath..

Under oath is a pivotal part of our justice system. Why would the top oifficials of our government refuse to testify under oath?? Why should they even have to be "asked".. They should be EXPECTING to be under oath...and to testify IN PUBLIC..

WE PAY THEIR SALARIES.... THEY ARE OUR EMPLOYEES.. IT IS OUR RIGHT AS CITIZENS TO KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IN OUR NAMES..

There should be 24/7 access to the meetings and the testimony, via television.

Does anyone remember the OJ trial?? EVERY channel had wall to wall coverage of that case.. Late at night they RE-RAN it for people who "missed it" because they were at work.

Is the murder of two Hollywood people, so much more vital to the public , MORE important, than the most egregious security failure, and the deaths of thousands of innocent people??

Have we not learned anything about "whitewashed investigative commissions" since the Warren Report. Forty years later, most people do not believe their "results"..

If the government does not want "conspiracy theories" and intermiinable questions, they have the solution..OPEN UP THAT CAN OF WORMS, and testify under oath...

The family groups that have had to do most of their investigation on their own, deserve to be the ones asking questions.. They have suffered the most loss, and they deserve their day in court.

The people who are running our country , got there because they wanted it , they were NOT "drafted" against their will. The jobs they sought, carry with them, the burden of responsibility, and the time has come (long passed, really) for them to stand up and be accountable. UNDER OATH..

1. Good argument
But the counter argument goes like this. If all the Republicans were on TV 24 hours a day, could they ever afford to compromise? If the Democrats were on TV 24 hours a day could they ever afford to compromise? Could any Senator ever turn down pork that would benefit his or her state?

Although I suppose one could argue that as such deals are made out in the halls and coat rooms, and so wouldn't be on tv.

2. The day to day goings on in congress are at least televised

so we can make our own judgements.. We are in a sense, the jury, and we get to vote them out (or so we THINK we do).. But when it comes to something that is as BIG as this is (should be), we need it under oath and televised..
