Barbara Comstock gave a clue as to Bush strategy on 9/11 Commission
She made the off-handed remark that it had become very "political". I have heard it several different times before her and it is obvious that they plan on minimizing anything that might come forth from the Commission Report as "partisan and political" and not worthy of taking seriously.

We can anticipate hearing more and more of these types of criticisms in the next few days - moreso as the news turns against them. It's the election season and it's to be expected, they will say. You have to take everything from the Commission with a grain of salt. Just like the books by O'Neil and Clarke, the Commission has been taken over by partisans, in an attempt to tear down the great leader, George W Bush.

1. Is that why the comission is headed by a Republican?
I don't think that's going to fly.

2. That door swings both ways.

The next time they attack Kerry with their lies, he can shrug it off as "partisan and political" too. Game. Set. Match.

Consider that in the Court of Public Opinion it all comes down to credibility and Smirk just ain't got any left!

3. This was Nixon's strategy to the bitter end
Along with the much-discussed-today duty to the separation of powers (a la, Dr. Rice's phony commitment to the Constitution).

What people should really do is start aligning Nixon's arguments with Bushies on this.

4. With all these Democrats masquerading as Republicans
we should win the election easily if we can coax them to come out.
