Why is Clarke getting all this attention and O'Neill didn't get sh*t?

I'm glad, no question -- anything that heralds the downfall of Bush is good.

Just wondering why Clarke is such a sh*t stirrer and O'Neill fizzled out?

1. Confirmation

now it's 2 senior * officials who say that * was pushing for war before 9/11 and after without proof, and this ones been in a high level office for decades. He's also a terrorism expert, and he had the access to know what * knew about this specific issue. *'s credibility is shot, only his most die hard believers still love him now.

2. Clarke has much more credibility

As an adviser in the Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton administrations, Clarke has proved himself nonpartisan, preferring public service over ideological alliance. Plus, Clarke's claims are well documented and have been public knowledge for some time. O'Neill was portrayed as a disgruntled employee, given the graceless way in which he was "resigned" from his office. According to a Newsweek article at the time of his resignation, O'Neill was more or less fired by Cheney. The Administration was able to portray him as an angry ex-employee. Besides, O'Neill was the Secretary of the Treasury. Clarke was a counter-terrorism expert. Who has more to offer in the way of criticism of the war on (t)error?

3. O'Neill retracted many of the books statements the next day

on the talk morning whore shows. He said he would probably vote for Bush as well. Apparently they got to him real quick. O'Neill claimed the plans for war with Iraq was no big deal since Clinton too had a plan as well and continued bombing it. But he did say they (BFEE) were too obsessed with Iraq since the beginning.

4. it is piling on deeper and thicker

It is harder to just make up some personal attack on just about everybody who are telling the very same story....O'neil was first and therefore people were persuaded that he had a personal agenda against the poor little shrub....but as more people come forward it is more likely that they are telling the truth....

we already know that they are but there are a lot of faithful religious crazies that find it HARD TO BELEIVE..... drip drip drip drip drip......pack up shrub, you are out of here

5. Clarke is getting more attention

because his specialty was terrorism wheras ONiel's was finance. Besides having a long track record with repub & dems in the white house, his terrorism expertise is very pertinent regarding this current war mess and all the fallout activities.
