Powell on now...critical of Clinton administration...But the POINT IS
with all the bombings and indiscriminate killings of innocent Muslims world-wide, we have not stopped terrorism or caught Osama. this administration has succeeded in developing more enemies for the US and embittering Muslims all over the world against us.

5. It's treason to criticize THEIR pResident...the rules do not apply to the
ruling class, remember?
Wealth and power put one above such trivialities as consistency, lawfulness, honesty, integrity, etc. Those are qualities one demands from the peasants, not the lords and ladies of the manor...

2. No shyt. Bush went into the WOT dumb. Hardly suprising. Did he
honestly think that the "terrists" would simply up and run because we're MAD? Because we invaded the WRONG FRICKIN' COUNTRY?

Please.

6. Aren't any one of the Repugs willing to take the blame for wag the dog?
From radio to tv to congress, that's all we heard when Clinton tried to take various actions. They want to discuss Bush in historical terms but Clinton exists in a vacuum. Nuts to them!

7. Powell admits comprohensive terror briefing by....
the Clinton administration. Said, bush put the Taliban as #1 target..etc.

Why didn't the bushies go after BinLaden if they had all the Clinton information? If they feel that Clinton failed, why didn't they go after BinLaden immediately, instead they attacked Iraq.

8. Bush put the Taliban as #1 target?
Ah, that explains the extra $40 million in foreign aid he gave them prior to 9-11...

12. bush* was confused and when he named them #1 pick he gave
them a $253 million, 4yr contract with an option for the 5th - 8th years(2005 - 2009) and the $43 million was their signing bonus.

11. Powell is dancing around the issues...
He's talking in general terms while Albright gave specific dates and strategies. He keeps repeating how bush was highly involved. Covering littleman's A$$.

16. They've been characterizing this "war on terror" as a crusade
for a long time. People much smarter than I am have reflected on the meaning of this here on DU. It is a very, very scary word in this context.

14. I don't have the link handy But months ago I read an article
Which was written in the summer of 2002.

FBI reported that it believed that there were only
200 hard core "suicidal maniac" al queda murderers
left .

That was almost 2 years ago , One must wonder
how many the CIA and FBI believe exist today .

If this number is higer , well that means the policy
of the bush administration has created "Threats"
instead of decreasing "threats"

Oh Welcome Underground aprilgirl

17. Call the FCC: Michael Powell's Boob is exposed!
I can't believe how far the lies go. I used to give Powell a little credit for trying to do what was right in the middle of crooks, but he's going over the edge at this hearing today.

Said Clarke was impatient and was "pushing it along quite well."

Enhanced Clarke's cred greatly, IMHO.

20. Yes...I think...
He said Dick was in most of the meetings with him (didn't Condi say he refused to go to meetings?????) and he was known as being impatient on this issue, pushing it all the time...

Yesterday I heard someone say Clarke at one point was running through hallways like his hair was on fire regarding the attack threat...and no one listened????

21. Go get him Jamie
Jamie Gorelick asking why Powell's minions did not know from the FBI and CIA to not issue visas to the bad actors coming to the US. Strongly implies tha the "more meeting" approach as taken by Clinton during Dec. 1999 would have greatly helped the information flow.
