We MUST Pressure the 9/11 Commission to Reveal the Truth!

I've been watching this whole thing as it exploded yesterday with Mr. Clarke's book full of revelations on 9/11. Clarke essentially spells out LIHOP, saying that the Bush Administration had plenty of warnings and did nothing to stop the attack. The media seems to have caught on to this...during the break between the hearings CNN had one of the family members of 9/11 victims on the air and the family member was talking about how the Bush Administration did not respond to warnings. The CNN anchor (Kyra something) was very sympathetic, at one point even asking "do you think the truth will ever come out?", insinuating that (a) there was a greater truth out there that has not been revealed and (b) that the commission does not seem interested in pursuing that truth.

So far the commission has just been focusing on questions like why the Clinton Administration (and to some extent the Bush Admin.) did not target Al Qaeda with military force before 9/11. This is a red herring and they damn well know it! The question that everyone NEEDS to be asking is why the Bush Administration did not act on repeated warnings to prevent 9/11. Or, in other words: who knew what and when? THAT is how we will get to the crux of the matter, but so far it seems that most of the commissioners (like former DEMOCRATIC Senator Bob Kerry, who seems to be on the "blame Clinton" bandwagon) have absolutely no intentions of pursuing these questions.

We MUST do something about this! We MUST pressure the commission to pursue the truth. We MUST make it blatantly obvious that if they do NOT ask these kinds of questions, the commission is a total whitewash.

How can we do this? First off, contact the media. Encourage them to keep hot on the trail. That will be the real key in my opinion, as it seems that many mainstream sources WANT the truth and would probably be willing to pursue the commission to get it.

Of course, you can also contact your representatives in Congress. It might not do much, but at least it will let them know that there are plenty of people out there who see right throw this blatant attempt at sweeping aside the truth.

But most importantly, WE NEED ACTION IN WASHINGTON! We need protests outside the building where these hearings are taking place. We need the voice of American Citizens to be heard, we need to stand up and say "we will NOT accept a whitewash, not this time, with so much on the line." If the Bush Administration allowed 9/11 to happen, or worse, it will easily be the greatest crime ever perpetrated against hte American public. We CANNOT allow this to go unrecognized and unpunished! If they get away with this, they can get away with anything!

So what say you all? What can we do to pressure the Commission to do its fucking job and get to the bottom of this matter???

But I think the key here is to assert pressure from the outside. If the people DEMAND the truth it will make it all the more difficult for the commission to pull off a whitewash.

Damn I wish Cleeland was still on the commission. I can see the wisdom of taking him off because he would be accused of having a personal vendetta against Bush because of the 2002 election. And he chose Kerry. He replaced one of the couple of guys on the Commission who was interested in getting to the bottom of the matter with an ex-Senator who apparently wants to help the Republicans blame the whole damn thing on the Clinton Administration! WHY DASCHLE, WHY???
