Democracy Now . Haiti . Black helicopters
If I heard it all...

Guy Philippe, an accused murderer and criminal, was just flown into a stadium someplace in Haiti by the U.S. in a black helicopter with a helicopter escort.

The U.S. is trying to get Jamaica to kick Aristede out of Jamaica and do it before the Car-i-com meeting in St. Kitts being held soon.

There was mention of sending him to Nigeria.

They don't want him near the people who support him while they install criminals to run Haiti.

The U.S. wants their new President, Latourtue (sp?), to attend the Car-I-Com meeting.

This is our State Dept, Military, Media, World Banks and Killer Cabal ...PLUS FRANCE....PLUS FRANCE...doing a little number in Haiti where a twice elected President of Haiti with an American wife and two small children are kicked aroung the world.

Shame on you France.

Going to open up some cabarets and gambling houses or do you just want to learn a little more about voodoo?

Shame on France. We know there is no shame with this administration.

So who among the Dems other than a small contingent of House Representatives care?

Who?

1. Caricom members resisting overtures from Latortue, B'dos Daily Nation
From today's Daily Nation, Barbados.

SOME Caribbean Community (CARICOM) prime ministers have reacted sharply against the possibility of a meeting with Haiti’s interim Prime Minister, Gerard Latortue, when they hold their 15th inter-sessional conference later this week in St Kitts.

The prime ministers of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves; St Lucia’s Kenny Anthony, and Antigua and Barbuda’s Lester Bird, said yesterday they could not envisage any such meeting with Latortue in the absence of a repudiation of his public attack on Caricom.

Latortue, who unilaterally declared a suspension of Haiti’s membership in Caricom on March 15 and declared as “an unfriendly act” Jamaica’s hosting of ousted President Jean Betrand Aristide, is now seeking to attend the two-day inter-sessional meeting of CARICOM leaders in St Kitts which starts Thursday.

2. On Democracy Now, the U.S. told Latortue that he said the wrong thing
to CARICOM.

What the heck are we doing?

We are doing nothing differently than we've done in decades past in Chile, Guatemala, Slavador and other places...but it is not so secretive anymore.

It is despicable. I'm appalled by our arrogance and lack of interest in the deaths and massacres and being the facilitator and approver and provider.

Someone, pray for us.

3. Congressional Black Caucus

Rep. Elijah Cummins, D-Md., speaks with members of the Congressional Black Caucus outside the White House after meeting with President Bush, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell Wednesday, Feb.25, 2004. With him, left to right, are Reps. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., Donald Payne, D-N.J., John Conyers, D-Mich., and Charles Rangel, D-N.Y. In a highly unusual move, the group demanded a meeting with Bush to express their concerns that the U.S. act to preserve the democracy in Haiti. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)

Opposition to Haiti's PM attending Caricom meeting

By Rickey Singh

Tuesday, March 23rd 2004

Latortue, who unilaterally declared a suspension of Haiti's membership in Caricom on March 15 and declared as "an unfriendly act" Jamaica's hosting of ousted President Jean-Betrand Aristide, is now seeking to attend the March 25-26 Inter-Sessional Meeting of Community leaders in St Kitts.

For his part, Prime Minister Bird, who is scheduled to assume the chairmanship of Caricom at the Inter-Sessional Meeting which begins on Thursday, said "once my party is re-elected to office at (today's) election, and I have no intention of presiding at the Caricom meeting with Latortue in attendance until we settle, on a matter of principle, the issue of recognition of a government in Haiti in view of how President Aristide was ousted from office..."
Gonsalves, who chairs five-member Prime Ministerial Working Group on "Options for Governance" in Caricom, that also includes Prime Minister Patrick Manning, said he also "has a serious problem with an official of the Organisation of American States sharing a platform with Latortue at what was a political rally in Gonaives".

This was a reference to the OAS representative, David Lee, who along with members of Latortue's recently appointed cabinet were flown with the interm Prime Minister on a United States military helicopter to Gonaives for the rally where he welcomed as "liberators" armed rebels who had fought for the overthrow of the Aristide presidency.

Prime Minister Anthony of St Lucia told the Express that he was puzzled that Latortue would want to be facilitated with a meeting of the Community's Heads of Government this week without "any public repudiation" of his previous statements pertaining to both his recall of Haiti's ambassador to Jamaica, and his surprised announcement of the suspension of Haiti's membership in Caricom.
