The R's are terrified of the Clarke story taking hold...

As I watch the response from the R's about Clarke, one thing is repeated above all others; Clarke did not show loyalty to the president.

Well here is what I think the Kerry camp should come out ans say:

Mr. Clarke, as a Civil Servant with 30 years of service, for several administrations, retired because he did not show loyalty to the president. However, Mr Clarke did show a loyalty to the American people by bringing out the truth. Mr Clarke showed loyalty to the Constitution and the ideals this government was built upon. He did not follow blindly, the ideology of this administration, he did not align himself with an administration that considers itself led into office by a mandate. Mr Clarke stood up for the principles he learned many years ago, that a good government does not lie to its citizenry, and even if it means the heat may become unbearable, it is the responsibility of government officials to lead by example, and uphold the laws and dignity of the nation they serve. Mr Clarke should be emulated as an individual that saw his duty to the nation as an oath of allegiance to that country, not the president, when that president is wrong.

1. He demonstrated loyalty to the OFFICE of the president and

the tenets of our Democracy, first by serving honorably in many administrations, then, by resigning on principal when he could no longer bear the lies of the diminutive puppet and his neo-con cabal, and now, by coming forward and setting the record straight on the inaction, mendacity and complicity of bushco in running this country and the world at large into the toilet.

2. My personal opinion...

...is Kerry or his camp shouldn't really come to defense of Mr. Clarke...he should comment on what Mr. Clarke has said, but more than that would make Clarke look like he's doing this to help Kerry, it would blur the line between Kerry and Clarke...this story is getting enough attention right now, the questions, the fall outs, to have Kerry defend Clarke would take away from what Clarke brought out into the open.

His loyalty is to America and he has proved that with 30 years of service. He was fighting terrorism while * was snorting blow and binge drinking at Yale.

...but I'm certain he took one to serve the Constitution.
