OK: I'm already tired of "stovepipe"
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 04:08 PM by Richardo
Enough already...I've heard that term at least two dozen times today - 10 of them from Rumsferatu in the last 10 minutes.

Never heard the phrase before today.

5. It means circumnavigating proper communication channels
Seymour Hersh used it as the title of a NewYorker article last fall.
They created 'stovepipes' to get information back to the president, in order to build up their intelligence in a way that painted the picture to their liking- as in: Saddam = al Qaeda = 9/11.

6. Refers to a direct conduit from raw intelligence to decision makers,,,
bypassing the career middlemen. It was also a famous Seymour M. Hersh article.

7. As long as we're going to be retiring some terms...
How about:

"Weapons of mass destruction"
"liberal bias"
"axis of evil"
and
"pockets of resistance"

8. Sewerpipe might be a more apt term
Cherry picking turds at the sewage treatment plant (OSP) and piping them back to Bush*.
