I am so $%#$@#E@# sick of the double standards!!!
How many people ran for president on the republican side, before * was annointed? A search reveals:

Bauer, Gary
Dole, Elizabeth
Forbes, Steve
Gawthrop, Bobby
Hatch, Orrin
Keyes, Alan
Knecht, Andromeda
McCain, John
Quayle, Dan

Nine. Nine Republicans. Ok.

Add Shrub and the total is 10.

So why all the bullshit and snickering about the current nine dems seeking the nomination?

And I'm damn sick of the doom and gloom everyone (both dem and repub)is predicting if Dean wins the nomination.

Didn't they say the same about Bill Clinton?

And Clinton TRASHED Shrub Sr.

Let's get real.

People with long memories and long attention spans and a working bullshit detector can always see through their little reindeer games.

They HATE that.

4. Typical, typical
I completely agree, but am not at all surprised. It's the right wing Republican way to be more correct (always) than us wacko, left wing, liberal freaks. Whatever they do always has a bigger, better purpose than anything anyone else does.

Hopefully, this time around, little W won't be able to buy his next bid for election. We can only hope.

5. they are scared dung-deficient of Dean

I don't know if he's the one yet, but the fact that BushCo is concerned enough to dismiss him, trash him, marginalize him...

they don't do that to "GW Lieberbush" do they ???

23. BushCo isn't doing that....
BushCo to me is Howard Fineman and Deborah Orin, and the American Spectator who all seemingly perceive Dean as great while taking potshots at Kerry.

6. There is only one standard...stop being such an alarmist
Here's the standard:

If a Republican does it, no matter how illegal and unethical, it is ok. If a Dem does it no matter the fact that it's legal it is not OK.

Glad I could simplify life for you. :D

10. How did Clinton trash Shrub Sr?
Not with 43% of the vote, we have Perot to think - much as Duhbya has those 1.6% of voters in Florida who voted Green... :eyes: (which is still a lie, the problem with Selection2k was Jebbie/Kathie along with the SCOTUS preferential partisanship)

13. very wrong ...
do the analysis if you want. I have. If you give Bush Daddy EVERY vote Perot got in the states in which the vote Perot got was greater than the difference between the two major candidates and Bill Clinton still wins the election.

This is a myth that the righties continue to propagate because it gives them an excuse for Clinton beating their boy's ass. Don't buy into it because the numbers simply do not bear it out.

11. I'm with you..,.
that is why I never post in any of the threads about the Dem nominees.

The Double Standard is so obvious, only the incredibly stupid can't see it. Damn, the D.S. jumps right out and slaps you in the face!

The D.S. is in everything, and I find it the most disgusting sign of hypocrisy that is out there.

I did have to chuckle at your list though, there are two people with brains on it.....then you see bush, and you realize that vegetables can make it to the big house.

12. A lot of potentials means . . .
A lot of people see a way to beat this fraud. At least, that's what I take away from the large Democratic field. If you didn't think you could beat the Dim Son, or influence the direction of the campaign, why would a person run? (Lieberman excepted, of course.)

16. You're absolutely right.
Nobody knew who the devil Bill Clinton was...yet everyone said he didn't have a chance. Dean's building the same way - and I think that he'll clean Jr*'s clock, if nominated. Again, like Clinton, nobody likes Dean - except the people.

18. You and me both sister
And here's another double standard that pisses me off to no end. All the pundidts are going on about the Democratic candidats going around to special interest groups. The groups are the afl-cio, naacp, women's groups etc. This morning I woke up to cokie roberts saying this very thing. Saying that it gives the impression that the Democratic candidates are pandering.

Well what the hell is Bush doing? Nobody says a damn thing when he goes around and panders to the big corporations and the rich son of a bitch friends of his.

Those groups are the people who make up the base of the Democratic party. They are groups of individuals as opposed to Bush who panders to big corporations and the very rich...everybody else be damned. Oh god I wanted to strangle cokie roberts this morning.

It's a hell of a thing to have to wake up wanting to throttle somebody.
