7. What an absolute liar Scarborough is

He says that Clarke was making outrageous claims that CBS didn't challenge him on at all. Scarborough went on to claim that Clarke stated that Clarke "could tell by looking into Condoleeza Rice's eyes that she had never heard of Al Qaeda before". Scarborough went on to state how absolutely ridiculous it was to make that claim. He and his right wing guest even offered up evidence by stating that she had spoken about Bin Laden and Al Qaeda on this occasion, and on that occasion.
Seems Scarbarfo is the one who had the facts incorrect. Here's what the book actually says, on pg 229:
"As I briefed Rice on al Qaeda, her facial expression gave me the impression that she had never heard the term before, so I added, "Most people think of it as Usama bin Laden's group, but it's much more than that. It's a network of affiliated terrorist organizations with cells in over fifty countries, including the U.S."
