1. None of the Above ---- Not "incompetence" but rather...
depraved indifference. That's what I know for sure.

The rest I am not ruling out, but neither will I go around spewing out dogma as though it is obviously and conclusively.

8. Selwynn's unintentional irony
First you state:

"depraved indifference. That's what I know for sure."

Then you go on to say:

"The rest I am not ruling out, but neither will I go around spewing out dogma as though it is obviously and conclusively."

How can you claim to know something for sure, to the point of not even considering looking into the other possabilities, and then turn around and say you aren't going to, "go around spewing out dogma as though it is obviously and conclusively"???

10. The others build upon depraved indifference
The only one that you could argue is not "depraved indifference" is MIHOP.

2. Made it happen , let it happen on purpose...
...what's the difference? Bush knew in advance and letting an attack happen on U.S. soil allowed the Bush administration to advance its ambitions for world military domination. Treason pure and simple. Impeach the whole bunch of them. :nuke:

4. He was tied up

Reading a story about a Goat. He just couldn't pry himself away to attend to his job right then.

6. LIHOP for little Junior himself
Junior's too stupid - like when he talked about seeing the first plane hit the tower (on multiple occasions - supposed to be a secret, dumb-ass!). They'd never let him be involved in the MIHOP.

But there's no doubt in my mind that this government finally got around to carrying out the Operation Northwoods it had been itching for since the 60s.

7. Bush Knew!
Given the corporate media's portrayal of honest moments as "gaffes", I understand there is a certain amount of apprehension about the potential political damage of admitting this. But, come on. Between everybody here, don't you think that the Bush administration (basically an energy, military, and pharmaceutical, corporate crime syndicate) is morally depraved enough to have hindered, to the best of their ability, the anti-terrorist investigations which would have prevented the terrorist incident which they needed to heard the nation into their right-wing extremist agenda? Doesn't this possibility, more a threat to our democracy than any terrorist, at least warrant thorough, independent, investigation, and not the kid gloves of a hand picked group of political insiders?

9. Bush is just a puppet.
Edited on Wed Mar-24-04 12:16 AM by pengpong
I think the extreme right wing, bolstered by PNAC, nominated the most incompetent numbskull they possibly could in hopes that somehow, through his extreme incompetence, perhaps the Pearl Harbor type event that they needed to forward their own agenda was more likely to occur. They struck gold.

Edit: punctuation error.

If your going to go so far as to suggest a PNAC conspiracy, why not the Bush team? Anyway, you theory does not hold up. While I don't think anyone believes Bush is a genius, he is surrounded by very intelligent, connected, and experienced teammates. Call them anything, but don't call them stupid.

12. His "teammates"...
are exactly who I'm talking about. It's the veil of imcompetency (Bush) that they've presented as their "leadership" that allows them to continue to operate in this manner. Of course, Bush nimself is a willing participant in this whole facade as well. To me, it's as clear as day...

13. Now I See
Sorry, I misinterpreted what you wrote. I can certainly see how they have used Bush's alleged incompetence as damage control.

Which one is it? Is he surrounded by loyal, intelligent experts, or treacherous, incompetent numbskulls?

16. An excellent time line
I'm sure some of you are familiar with this time line. Although some of the weaker evidence provides material for straw man attacks, the totality of the time line overwhelmingly suggests that the Bush team, at the very least, was aware of the terrorist's plans, and may have even aided them.
