Clinton to terrorists: U.S. won't be intimidated
President calls for new legislation.
President Clinton sent a resounding message to terrorists Sunday: America will not be intimidated by "cowardly" acts of violence.
"As Americans, we can and must join together to defeat terrorism wherever it strikes and whoever practices it," Clinton said in a speech to disabled veterans in New Orleans.

Terrorism is not fading away," Clinton observed in his address to U.N. delegates. He said the fight against terrorism should remain a top priority on the world's agenda.
Citing the August 7 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the recent terrorist bombing in Northern Ireland, and continued violence in the Middle East, Clinton said that terrorism was not merely an American problem but one that affected the whole international community.
