I admit i never really listened to Rush Limbaugh before.

Sure i heard snippet of his show but i never gave him a good 5 minute listen, until the other day. Maybe i was feeling self abusive, but i was driving around while tuning the radio dial when i found his show. I was blown away by Rush! (No, i didn't agree with any of his rantings.) What struck me was his voice, tone, and the cadence of his speech. He speaks exactly like a carnival barker trying to sell you some magic elixir (or oxycontin). ;-) It wouldn't matter if Rush was a leftist! I can hear the deception in his tone without even knowing what he's talking about. He also came across as someone that has complete contempt for his own audience. (Reminds me of Andy Griffith in 'A Face in the Crowd.') The fact that he has an audience blew me away!

2. I Listen to Rush

about twice a week. I can only stand a few minutes at a time. Rush Limbaugh kicks ass. He understands his audience (right-wing wackos and drunk truckers who think patriotism is best displayed by a cruise missile) and he gives them just what they want.

Plus, when you hear him really foaming at the mic, then you know the Bushies must be in deep doo doo.

3. I can't get his show in my town.

And I've never listened before. I was up in Dallas the other day and was able to tune in.

It was the beginning of his set, and he opened up with a long hard rant AGAINST Xtian fundies trying to ban books in some other southern state. I actually was quite surprised and in agreement.

He then went onto the RW talking points of the day, and I turned it off (back to an FM rock station, where my radio belongs).

I have to wonder if his dealings with the ACLU are helping him see the light?

Didn't you know? Why, just today he concluded that the millions of workers who lost their jobs under Bushit have suddenly become rich entrepreneurs. Magically, after opining his brilliance, the next caller was a former worker who lost her job and became a wealthy entrepreneur.

You have to admit, that many of these unemployed, outsourced, and free traded deadbeats are making a killing out there in the business world. There's tons of money to be made walking the highways picking up aluminum cans and sifting through garbage dumps. There is even more to be made on the internet auction sites selling off your personal belongings.

Want to see an exmaple of it, how long do you think Dennis Miller is gong to last? I'd bet his show will be off the air before the election and the reason is that no one listens.

BTW i know how they get ratings for television, but how do they calculate ratings for radio? I'm mean if i turn on my AM radio they don't i'm listening. Is there a nielsen box for radio?

I forced myself to listen to him thinking that I needed to
educate myself about what goes on there. I was appalled and couldn't
bear to listen to more than five minutes of it.

Whether you listen for ten years or five minutes, his message is
the same unchanging bs. Liberals hate America. Clinton's penis
is the most evil weapon ever unleased on modern society. Hillary
Clinton is responsible for every evil that he can't pin on Bill.

It was nauseating. I am convinced that if a person started out
listening to him with an IQ of say, 130 - they's end up dropping
25 -30 points after the first month.

He appeals to everything that is unthinking, stupid and base
in his listeners.
