Edited on Wed Mar-24-04 07:40 AM by jean
Her last name is pronounced " goREL-lick.

She just said she is disappointed Condi Rice is not testifying, although Condi did go before the commission privately.

Gorelick said, Rice should go before them in public...Condi has answered questions from Russert, from C-Span...and named a couple other nationally televised shows... the commission represents the public and the public deserves to be able to ask her questions...

edit: added the update

2. she just said the commission has subpoena power
but the commission has a short shelf life, and it could take months to get one. She wants bush, cheney and condi to appear publicly.

10. Can we mount a campaign to keep
the Commission going? or to pressure these people in the administration to testify?

5. very sharp person & could be AG under kerry
been watching her govt work for years. she is very professonal and bright.

loved her response to the "ovaraian male" syndrome in congress.

back in the mid 90's the wash post did a column about her and she talked about how hard it was for her, a mother of young kids to be as high in govt as she was and on call all the time.

6. Ijaz
And some RW woman called to ask her why she didn't mention that Mansour Ijaz had tried to turn Bin Laden over to President Clinton. She told the lady that the source for that story "is just not credible." That's putting it mildly!

7. I was so glad to hear that!
Every day at work I have to listen to all my RW workmates spew crap like "But Clinton turned down three offers to have Bin Laden handed over to him"....Once C-Span puts the video up, I'm going to replay that segment over and over and over again just to drive them crazy!

16. She was on Washington Journal
this morning, and c-Span puts videos of all the Washington Journal shows on their website. I want the part where she says that Ijaz is not credible and that the commission has seen no evidence that supports his claim that Clinton turned down an offer from Sudan to turn over Bin Laden. Go to the C-Span website and look for the "Washington Journal" section for the video archive of today's show.

9. She looks sharp and fair
She says the 9/11 timeline will be investigated on another day. And to a caller replied that the Bin Ladins exodus from America right after 9/11 will be looked into. She is not missing a beat.

11. Very Impressive...She Said Condi Would Be A Good Witness
She said that Ms. Rice provided hours of quality testimony in private and should do the same publicly. What could she say to compromise a country that was already compromised. This isn't about whose to blame as much as to learn what went wrong and prevent it from happening again.

I've been impressed with her as well as Roemer, Bob Kerry and the great Dick Ben-Veniste. Democrats are being served very well here. I even, reluctantly, am glad to see my former "guv" Jim Thompson on the panel. He's not a cool-aid drinker and will show some spine and independence if evidence is compelling.

17. Didn't Gorelick just tell Tenet...
...that 18 of the 19 al-Qaeda hijackers arrived in the US after April 2001, during the Bush administration's watch?

My wife's listening to the 9/11 hearings; I heard it from her.

"I'm Rick James, beeeatch!"
