Kerry and Hugo Chavez
Anyone know what's with Kerry and his being so Anti-Chavez?
This is NOT a good start for a "new" foreign policy. He sounds like a typical Neo-Con hawk!! Grrrrr. Wasn't Mr. Chavez democratically elected and the Bushies have been trying to oust him because he is not playing Big Oil game??

1. Venezuela has oil
expecting Kerry to defend Chavez in election year is unrealistic. Too many opportunities for Bush to smear him.

PS Yes, ok, so I'm giving Kerry the benefit of the doubt here. I gotta, otherwise I'd just go mad with despair.

4. I wish he'd kept his mouth shut, too.
There will be problems with Kerry, and we have to keep alert. But I'm willing to give him the chance, being as there is no longer any choice.

5. Exactly how I feel
Electing Kerry is the beginning, not the end.

6. In what way is Chavez a thug?
Venezuela has a free and privately owned media that spends all its time bashing Chavez with no reprisals. In Venezuela 500,000 people can march against the government as they like whereas in the UK and US we get herded into 'free-speech zones'. He was democratically elected, survived a US backed coup, and yet those who carried out this coup are still free to go around plotting against him. Do you honestly think, if there was a failed coup in the US, that most of its leadership and supporters would be free to plot against the government two years later?
