Question about the CA ballot

As I understand there will be 200-300 people putting themselves up for governor. Will they have to put all those names on the ballot?

1. If they all qualify, ie. . . .

pay their $3500 and/or get enough people to sign their petitions (there's not enough time for that effort), the answer is yes. There's two parts to the recall:

1) Should Gray Davis be recalled? Yes or no.
If over 50% vote no, Davis remains as governor.
If less than 50% vote no, then . . .

2) The candidate with a plurality wins. In other words, if one candidate got 8%, one got 7% and on down the line, the candidate with 8% gets to be govenor -- maybe.

Then there's that little question of Cruz. Oh yeah, and the California Supreme Court. And Davis filing petition to hold the election next March during the primaries.

If this isn't a prime definition of cluster f**k, I don't know what is.

2. If they turn

in the completed application, which includes a filing fee and signatures, then they are entitled to go on the ballot.

IT's easy! All you need is $3500 and 65 signatures and you, too, can run for Governor!
