Is that a polite request? Good threads get bumped off the first page of GD by unnecessary thread proliferation. What would be a good solution to this problem?

4. If there are too many threads
Edited on Mon Aug-04-03 07:41 PM by quinnox
posted from one DUer and they are threads that don't interest you, the easy solution is to place them on ignore, and poof, all the threads they start are gone, end of problem.

7. I've been doing that a lot lately.
Lots of trolls around lately. The game is, of course, that they don't "technically" break any DU rules and the new thing is they use some Democratic candidate's avitar -- then start flamewars.

Ignore is good. I'm also seriously thinking about plagiarizing from Matcom and his "this one time at band camp" schpiel. Nothing like a good threadjacking to defuse a troll.

9. Yep
I noticed it too. I have a feeling there are a few teens with nothing to do in the summer, who have found a new game on DU.

14. It's been really obvious but as you say they are trying to be care-
ful not to break any rules!

I feel they are here to flame, disrupt, and divide.
ANd some of them are just plain dumb.
I wonder if they do it on their own or get paid by thread?

6. Been wondering that for a few days now
I think we're all on the same page here (and I think TruthIsAll tried to say as much a couple of days ago, but that thread was deleted pretty quickly)...

11. Good point
However, I'm not talking about changing any rules or anything like that. Just having some consideration for others, which is a fine Democratic principle.

12. No.
If someone is starting too many threads for your taste, ignore them. You can always un-ignore them later to check whether the spree has ended.

13. I've noticed the new trend of multiple postings too
The best thing is to read and kick the ones you think are worthy of staying on the top of the heap.

17. Only DUers who have a star should be allowed to start a thread
no more threads started by trolls

18. You might post your suggestion ...
inside one of the threads that these people start. I am beginning to think "they" don't see these suggestions because they only start their own threads and never read anything else. No names - but one such offender is driving me NUTS! Maybe that is against the rules too - to make a friendly suggestion to someone in particular. Please - this is not an invitation to mention names.
