They didn't lay a glove on Clarke----agree or disagree?
I think they didn't touch his credibility and he made his detractors look absolutely foolish.

11. got that, but they're TRYING to nail him on MSNBC right now
some jamoke named Downing is giving it to him now, calling him an exaggerator, pumping up his role, defending Tenet's role in WOT, decrying Clinton's lack of meeting with Tenet

The guy's in a near panic trying to discredit Clarke. So obviously fucking partisan, trying to smear him.

I'm just disgusted by this to no end.

53. Rasmussen Poll Latest: Bush 44 Kerry 47

now mind you it's only a tracking poll but this kinda puts the damage in perspective, it tracks the last 3 days, in this case Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, so since Sunday would be mostly pre-Clarke bombshell, i think it's safe to say Kerry got about a 7 point bounce! Well for what it's worth.

I thought Clarke did unbelievable! His attackers were sent sheepishly running back to the woods. Woo Woo.

As for Condi, she has no shred of credibility since she refused to testify before the committee.

from "liar."

There's somebody on MSNBC saying he's "guilty" of "Shifting stories if not shifting loyalties." Dan Abrams says the Bush White House should prosecute Clarke if he's lying.

9. Agree - unless they edit it to just show the allegations and slams
the rethugs were trying to hit him with. But if you saw the whole thing including when he got to respond that a lot of his criticisms are because of Iraq and in his earlier testimony to the commission he did not deal with Iraq.

Edited on Wed Mar-24-04 03:56 PM by mouse7
The combination of dispatching all claims made against him by ReThugs without breaking a sweat combined with the statement that he would refuse a position in a Kerry admin make Clarke now almost untouchable.

39. Don't forget his abject apology to 9/11 victims' families...
... for failing to protect their loved ones. That was the sole substance of his one-minute statement to the Commission before fielding questions. Even Fox "News" has had to lead with that sound byte from Clarke... it was the highlight of the day and will be remembered long after all this "backgrounder" nonsense is forgotten.

after the quote about Iraq. Dead silence.

Man, what a relief to hear somebody telling the truth and actually interested in telling it. How many years has it been?

Even the stuff that's been bugging us for years now, like the Bin Laden family allowed to fly out. He had a very credible story and a very simple answer for that. He seemed like he actually wanted to get the truth out there, something NOBODY else wants to do from that fucking administration

46. Attention Dubya: This is what Leadership looks like.
I live in New York, about a half mile from ground zero. I didn't lose anyone in the towers, but all of us in the immediate area went through months of hell.

This is the first time I've heard anyone in a position of power take personal and professional responsibility for the greatest security failure in the history of our country. I wept bitter tears today to finally hear somebody say, "We let you down."

And while we're at it, don't ever let anyone tell you Gweeleeoni did jack for new york! After 9/11 he was instantly transformed from a pudtz, trigomyst joke, into the hottest media ticket in town, giving private tours of the carnage to a stream of jet setters, movie stars, and international politico wannabes. And he nearly milked his overnight fame all the way to the Senate. Thank God Hillary put a cork in his pie hole. Maybe she hasn't done much for the city since, but at least she put paid to that phony loser. Prostate cancer indeed.

But the point is: THANK YOU, MR. CLARKE. I forgive YOU.

I can't believe their interpretation of the testimony I saw. Wolf had some twit who couldn't adequately get that someone speaking for an administration cannot offer their personal opinion and will not freely provide information to hurt the admin's case. Of course, Wolf watched as well and he also didn't understand this? Before he became a whore, was Wolf a reporter once?

I'm afraid that those who watch it will have a far different opinion than those reading about this. I hope the newspapers and Evening News do a better job.

And he has enormous confidence in his position. Having worked in gov't - when your boss tells you to spin them in a good light, you do it. I think it may have been at that point when Clarke began to consider leaving. He did as much as he could and then he left when it all became too much in the shadow of 9/11 and Bush's degenerate campaign rhetoric.

Clarke is a patriot and Georgie is not.
