The 9/11 families rushing toward Clarke --

I lived through Watergate, and witnessed moments in which everything changed. I'm pessimistic enough to believe that somehow the Bush cabal, more powerful and more nefarious than Nixon's, will find a way to prevail. But I felt, for the first time in a long time, at the moment when the 9/11 families rushed toward Clarke, that this country might have a chance.

was Clarke was the FIRST to tell the 9-11 families he and the government FAILED them.

What happened exactly? Was this at the hearings?

I did hear that he apologized to the families. He must be the first representative of the U.S. government to do that.

5. He was the most forthright of anybody I saw

He also confirmed that a plane carrying Bin-Laden family was allowed to leave the US after 9-11.

You can only wonder what he said behind closed doors for the 15 hours he let them question him.
