We Want Condi! We Want Condi! We Want Condi!
Make this the longest thread on DU. Let the freepers report on this one.

Let's kick it until she testifies. We're tired of excuses. They don't want her talking because it was HER that was "out of the loop."
Today was a circus with Armitrage. I hear she's gonna be on Hannity tonight. Ain't that a ...

17. And have you heard her reason for NOT testifying?
On another thread, it's being reported that she told Tom Brokaw that she'd like nothing better than to testify, but that she has to "respect the separation of powers".

Does anyone else see the problem with this?

There is no separation of powers issue. It's a freaking presidential commission, as in, the Executive Branch, as in, the part of government she works for!

If this is the best lie she can come up with, I sure hope the general public starts to see what we've known for almost 4 years now--that they're nothing but LIARS who have SOMETHING TO HIDE.

52. Executive Branch
The executive branch approved the creation of the 9/11 Commission, but it was established by Congress.

The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission), an independent, bipartisan commission created by congressional legislation and the signature of President George W. Bush in late 2002, is chartered to prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks. The Commission is also mandated to provide recommendations designed to guard against future attacks.

25. My sentiments exactly. Put the lies on the record.
When she breaks down she'll have to say the same thing Clarke said about talking good for the Bush team. Tee hee.

Seriously though. My take on it is this. Condi was told that the chatter was about "traditional" hijackings. That's why she couldn't help what she said right after 9-11 - that no one imagined they would fly the planes into the wtc. The only reason that they didn't imagine it, is that they were told that the plot involved "traditional" hijacking.

It has long been discussed before, the possibility of using those planes as missiles. The only possible reason for stating what she said, was that she was told that the increased "chatter" was about a "traditional" hijacking. If she were to naively let that cat out of the bag, it would really look bad for Bush.

30. A "traditional hijacking" is one where, not many people will die or get
hurt. Especially if it the "hijackers" only use something like boxcutters. I mean, how many people can you kill with boxcutters as american heroes storm the plane and take out the terrorists?

I think another poster hit the nail on the head when the poster speculated that Barbara Olsen was on one of the planes so as to get the inside story of the rescue. Unfortunately, the ole doublecross happened.

I still say, we either have a mole high up in our government whose tipping the "enemy", or somebody from the inside, pulled a doublecross.

42. don't fall for the friggin scam!!!
What's the matter with you people? ....Well we think it's a shame "Dr. Rice" won't be testifying...and it's really unfortunate...becuase her private testimony was powerful and eloquent......For Christs sake the media whores and "non-partisan" Rethuglicans have been pumping this grift for a week. Don't you wonder why? Ask yourself....Do you actually believe the slimy bitch won't "testify"? I'd just about bet my testicles that Rove is rubbing his little paws together as I write....his little whiskers twitching over a humorless smirk.

Just you wait. We'll be hearing soon that the Bush administration, in an effort to put to rest the any doubts that may still exist..."in this time of change"....has graciously decided to break with precedent and put forward "Dr. Rices" testimony. At which point she will get up and recite the lies she and Karl have been polishing to a blinding gleam for the past month. Pull your heads out....the "commission" was put together by the very people it is investigating. If you believe for a second that "Dr. Rices" testimony won't be used as a velveteen hammer to squash the anger of the victims families...you are fools. Mark my words...it's gonna happen.

Why insist the silly bitch testify? She already has....in the media....and she quite obviously told a bunch of fucking lies. We should insist that she NOT testify...as the commission was designed to air the truth....NOT misdirection....NOT rationalization...and most particularly NOT lies. We should be pointing out that she is ignorant, ill equipped for her job and not the least bit interested in pursuing the greater good if that pursuit makes clear her short comings. We should be saying, in short, that we would prefer she not testify as her lies have already clouded the issue enough. Let's constrain her hydrocephalic chipmunk babble to cable "news" shows. She is IRRELAVENT....as the loss of 3000 lives makes quite clear....She was irrelevant before 9/11, during 9/11 and after 9/11. Why give her relevancy now. We should agree with her handlers...that yes indeed, she IS irrelevant and as such should have no place in a proceeding which is of course irrelevant itself but has been ingineered to give the impression of gravity. Let's leave the testimony to the experts....the people who are and were, really calling the shots.

rehearsed her lines. I want her on the record. I want her to answer some questions. Hell, we're paying her. I want to hear what she has to say, since in my opinion, she slipped up big big time with the "we thought they would be traditional hijackings."

Now with all the information that had been out there for years about a hijacked plane being used as a missile, the ONLY possible reason you would "not imagine planes being used as missiles", is if you were told in advance, that the "terrorist attack" would be a "traditional hijacking."

If you knew that a "traditional hijacking" might occur, then why wasn't airport security beefed up? Instead we get all these damn phone calls to people, warning them not to take a flight on the 11th.

The whole thing stinks to high heaven, and for once, I want to see the filth revealed. If it takes pulling every thread you can get your hands on, then I say do it. Having her testify even in front of the hand-picked commission is a thread.

That needs to be answered.WTF was she doing that was so damned important that she couldn't deal directly with Clarke?

“I dealt directly with the national security advisers in the Clinton administration,” he said, while in the Bush administration, “I was told would be best done with the deputy national security adviser. So I spent less time talking about the problems of terrorism with the national security adviser in this administration.”

<source> http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4568982/

Was she:

A: "Too good "to deal with him?

B: Fucking off all the time?

C: Had no clue how to do the job?

D: Ordered to sit on her hands and do nothing while the BFEE caried out its plans?

E: Other?

How can her remarks hold and weight against Clarke who testified under oath and in public and she refuses to do the same. This makes all her remarks suspect. My guess is that she refuses to testify because she fears lying under oath. Maybe the commission should have her questioned by a federal agent and then she can be charged with lying to an agent like they did to Martha. Condi can't tell the truth that's why Bush likes her so much. Birds of a feather and all that.

Both came out and said that Clarke doesn't know what he's talking about because he was not in the loop.

Meanwhile, Clarke gives hours of testimony in which his chief complaint is they wouldn't listen to him, he was shunted off to some deputy committee.

Condi and Cheney are actually corroborating his testimony. The stupid fools.
