Protesters Lose Bid to Camp in NY During Convention
Looks like all hell's going to be breaking out, especially since they're denying the right to a peaceful protest..

Protesters Lose Bid to Camp in NY During Convention

By Ellen Wulfhorst

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former members of the Yippies, a counterculture group that clashed with police in riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, lost a bid on Wednesday to set up a camp for protesters during this summer's Republican National Convention in New York, officials said.

Demonstrators predict huge numbers of protesters will descend on New York for the convention. Law enforcement officials are planning unprecedented security.

In 1968, members of the Yippies, who were running a pig named Pigasus as their candidate for president, and other activists clashed with police in violent demonstrations during the Democratic convention in Chicago.

This year, during the Republican convention in August in New York, the Yippies were proposing peaceful campsites called the "John Lennon-Abbie Hoffman Memorial Camporee," in honor of the slain Beatle and the late Yippie co-founder, Penley said.

It's going to get very, very vocal, not allowing protestors camps to sleep, this is just the beginning...they can't take away our right to assemble & protest...no fucking way...they better make concessions for peaceful protest!

There will be camps...how in the fuck are they going to stop hundreds of thousand of protestors from camping and sleeping?
