"But Clinton lied!"
anyone else sick of hearing this excuse from Freepers. It's so illogical my mind can barely comprehend it.

I'll ignore the fact that Clinton's lie was of far less concern considering that it killed no one, and instead ask how exactly it is relevant. Clinton is not running for President. So does the fact that he lied about something that was hardly a matter at all mean every future President can lie about whatever they want to? What's the next President who lies about sex going to say? Don't blame me, Clinton did the same thing? Really, I don't understand what this has to do with anything.

1. I say, "He sure did"
About sex, to an effeminate, perverted special prosecutor who was asking questions that were none of his fucking business anyway. Not one person was killed or wounded because of Clinton's lies about sex.

2. All politician lie
some are just better at getting away with it. Clinton just did it very explicitly, but also explicitly under Republican pressure.

3. I tell them they have two choices:
Either:

1. Bill Clinton was a detestable, lying scumbag.

-OR-

2. Bill Clinton is the standard of integrity.

They can't have it both ways. If Clinton deserved to be impeached for his lies about sex, then Bush deserves at least the same.

4. My take on it...

All politicians lie. I care about their policies and whether or not I believe they are fit to hold office.

Getting a blow job in the oval office is not behavior you expect out of your president, and it will carry a price at the polls as your evaluation of integrity and character gets scrutinized.

That being said, I care about results and I care about issues. I don't like Bush because of his policies, not because he used to do coke or drank or any other crap. I could care less about that shit.

I care about lies if they affect ME when it comes to the President. and the punishment must fit the crime. Wasting 77 million of my tax money and interfering with the job Clinton was doing to find out if he got head was a waste of fucking time and money.

11. I was disappointed in Clinton...
the sexual indiscretion in the oval office was tacky enough (and thanks to the media, I know details I could have lived without), but I was furious that Clinton fell right into the trap set by the Republicans. They were practically camped on his doorstep from day one, just WAITING.....and he HANDED them a scandal! And I fault the Republicans for continuing to beat it to death.

That said, anything negative I ever opined about Clinton thinking with his penis, has evaporated in the face of the destruction and abuses wrought by "President" Bush and his administration.

clinton is long gone. Fine if you wan't to argue about how Clinton did nothing to Bin Laden then fine (even though you would be completely wrong). Clinton isn't the prez anymore. Bush is. It is so funny how conservatives, when Clarke came forward, can only attack Clarke or Clinton. They can really do nothing to refute his actual claims.

9. Dunno, $40million can pay for a lot of famine relief
If you don't give it to Ken Starr and his team.

He should have just come out and said "yes Ms. Lewinsky gives good head; but lets not embarass the poor girl, next question please."

"I said next question, It's a private matter and believe me, Hillary will make sure I always regret it, next question please"

8. These people hated Clinton passionately,
and if the only good thing they can say about Bush is that he's no worse than Clinton, what does that tell you?

10. The devil is in the details
As others have said the great Clenis has made its mark so to say in the troubles in this country, but refusing to admit Clinton only got a BJ while Bush screwed the country.

13. But it wasn't as they mislead you to believe!
Most neo-cons will misquote Clinton and call it a lie. It is they who are lying by corrupting the quotation.
President Clinton may have lied to somebody, but when he was on TV, talking to the American people, he was merely misleading.

He said "I did not have sexual relations with..." He did not say "I did not have sex with..."

To me, the term "sexual relations" means intercourse. This makes his statement true, slightly misleading, but true. He did have a sexual relationship with the woman, but he did not have sexual relations with her. I think only those who wanted a reason to dislike him could think of this as a lie. Even so, they don't think it is convincing enough and, therefore, distort his words.

I had always heard a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell. Now this woman's reputation is ruined for life because of her little indescretion and the voyerism of a sexually frustrated Ken Starr. Thank goodness the rest of us don't wear the Scarlett Letter for the stupid things we might have done in our youth. Too bad Monica has to.
