Lieberman's attack on liberals

Has anybody heard any response to Lieberman's attacks on the left in the Democratic Party? Anybody like Kucinich or Dean has said anything?

To those who had not heard Lieberman attacked fellow Democrats like Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich that people should not support social programs and anti-war candidates.

This man just disgusts me. The more I think about it the more I am convinced he is a just a whiny wimp who wishes he had the gonads to be a Republican.

1. Someone ought to duct tape his mouth shut

That miserable two-faced bastard is doing his BEST to smear all the other candidates. I guess he thinks it will help HIM,but he is too damn ignorant to realize he is hurting the democratic party. He is a repuke in dem's clothing and I think he hurt Al Gore. His joke telling and wearing his religion on his sleeve turned a lot of people off.I can't stand him,he needs to shut the hell up and get out of this race.I'll be so glad when Dean wins and this dried up old has been can retire and be with his family.

2. Gore should have picked somebody else as a running mate.

Had Al Gore picked somebody else besides Lieberman, Gore's numbers would have been larger than Bush's and Gore would have ended up in the White House. Gore should have picked John Kerry. It would have been a better fit in my view. I think Lieberman played a factor in Gore not getting more numbers.

3. Lieberman

Lieberman is the Democratic party. With the exception of people like Durbin,Dayton,Feingold, Kennedy, Boxer, Corzine, Kerry ect. The Senate Democrats are nothing but watered down Republicans. Only 14 Democrats in the senate voted against the bankruptsy bill. Lieberman is the face of the New Democrats and a result of what happens when corporations take over the party. Whatever your feelings on Nader all Democrats should read the chapter "Morphing of the Democrats" in his book Crashing The Party. He details the gradual takeover of the Democratic Party by Corporate interests. As progressives we need to work to take our party back. Even if we nominate a progressive who loses in 04 a loss may be necissary to take back our party and reorganize our priorities. The "center" of politics in this country has drifted to the Right since the mid 70s and is now so far out there that Barry Goldwater could be a Democrat.

why any Democrat would bash liberals.

and lefties should heave the party to the left with all of its might. If it is not done, either progressives need to change thier views, or we need another populist-like labor movement.
