Who should have been Al Gore's running mate?

I have always said that Gore made a mistake in picking Joe Lieberman as VP. It seemed a little strange to me that Joe also ran to keep his Senate seat during that 2000 election. Gore's numbers would have been bigger and Florida and chads would have been a non-issue.

I think John Kerry would have been better for Gore. Both served in the military during Vietnam and Kerry isn't as conservative and moralistic as Lieberman is.

Who do you think Gore should have picked as a running mate?

Picking Joe Lieberman was one of Al Gore's many mistakes. While I know that Gore really won the election, I believe that Lieberman lost more votes in Florida than he gained. Anyone who would have been swayed favorably by Lieberman would have been voting for Gore anyway.

Even though he was very junior at that time - he is one heck of a campaigner, speaker, southern home boy , easy on the eyes, .... Lieberman was never truely committed _ also couldn't get over his holy - Joe position in Clinton...

He was in the running for Gore's VP.

Durbin would make a stellar Presidential candidate and would be a shoe-in for winning the office.

Why he's not running, I don't understand. But it seems those who really SHOULD be President don't.
