9/11 families line up to thank Richard Clarke at hearing (must see pics)

Former U.S. counter-terrorism coordinator Richard Clarke hugs and greets family members of victims of the September 11 attacks following testimony before a national commission investigating the attacks on Capitol Hill March 24, 2004. Relatives of 9/11 victims praised Clarke on March 25 for publicly apologizing for not doing enough to prevent the tragedy. Photo by Win Mcnamee/Reuters

2. Thank You Mr. Clarke
It was the right thing to do. Now that is non-partisan. Did anyone see the way he was staring down Lehman after he accused Clarke of politicizing the hearings? He looked like he was going rip his face off.

6. Lehman was totally unprofessional on PBS and NBC
He is a commission member and he was spewing the Bush/let the dogs out talking points on Jim Lehrer News Hour last night and on network tv this morning. He could have subbed for Scott Mcclelland or douchebag Ari Fleischer.

11. As Clarke was leaving the room...
...at the end of the televised session on CNN, he and Lehman very clearly greeted each other warmly, patted each other on the back quite vigorously, and shook hands. I know what I want to think about this- that there is a lot of mutual respect. Lehman's questioning didn't show it, though.

This must have been before the pictures above, as I don't think that any of the families were still in the room-(thanks Ms Rice). His apology was obviously very touching to all. The only commissioner I heard even mention it was Ben Veniste, with his thanks.

9. He said he voted for McCain in the Republican primary
Didn't say he voted for Bush, that I know of.

5. Is that a "John Kerry, the Real Deal" button on the lady's lapel?
Seriously, though, those are must-see pics. How would you feel after all that testimony about the death of your family member(s)?

12. Doesn't look like it.
Many families of 9/11 victims wear pins with their family member's face on them, as a remembrance. Probably what that is.

10. I think the man he's embracing
is one of the people who spoke at the press Club thing on Monday.
if you didn't catch it, you can watch from Cspan site.

It is moving as all get-out.
One after another a survivor, victim's friend or family or advocate gets up and presents a question they want aWol to answer.
The man I'm thinking of lost his wife (24 yrs).

Several of the speakers work at pentagon, an airline etc.

14. I don't watch much besides CSPAN nowadays.
I'll be looking for it. Even the stills are moving. (Damn...that makes me sound drunk.)
Ah...you know what I mean!
