I bet that's why they are desperately trying to keep the meetings secret, just like they are trying to keep Condi from the 9/11 commision.

1. Sure, it's all about the oil.
Now that we're pretty sure it's NOT about:
WMD
Terra
9/11
Freeing the people

What's left?

2. Funny that you should mention this.....

During the past 3 months I've had 2 people mention those papers and what is being hidden. Neither of these guys is the tinfoil hat sort and one even said - "Forget LIHOP, forget the carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs stuff. There is something in those papers that is either so embarrassing to this gang or so damning that it can not see the light of day".

I am at a loss as to what it might be unless it spells out the specifics of PNAC in such detail that no one could mistake it for a "conspiracy".

Any ideas on their relation to 9/11?

3. I think that it will prove Clarke right.
That they were so focused on iraq that terrorism was the furthest thing from their mind.

5. My guess is it lays out their Mideast strategy and the Iraq War.
Also, it may be that there are embarrassing connections to Enron and the manipulation of power supplies to California.

“These documents show the importance of the Energy Task Force and why its operations should be open to the public,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

6. I always wondered if a member of the Taliban
was in that committee. Maybe old OBL himself.

8. Was Invading Iraq was Bush's Energy Plan?
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 05:33 PM by ulTRAX
One has to wonder just what was discussed during these meetings. Maybe they were already dividing up the oil fields for US oil companies. O'Niell's map suggests that. So was there a discussion of an Iraqi invasion before 911?

9. Here's all the dirt you're looking for!

The Task Force did a bait-and switch to make the PNAC's agenda official WH Energy Policy and they wholly manufactured the CA Energy "crisis" presumably as an early pretext to invade Iraq.....lots of details/links here:

10. Cheney and company sure have let the rhetoric of "energy security"...
... get out of control. Have you visited official government "energy security" websites such as http://www.ea.doe.gov/ ?

"Welcome to the DOE Office of Energy Assurance (OEA). OEA supports the national security of the United States by working in close collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security, State and local governments, and the private sector to ensure the reliable and secure operation of the Nation's energy systems.

America's energy infrastructure is the backbone of commerce, transportation, communications, government, health care, and home life in the United States. Any prolonged interruption of the supply of basic energy - be it electrical, natural gas, or oil products - would be devastating to the nation and its people. We increasingly depend on robust, secure, and reliable energy systems to power our economy, maintain our national security, and provide for the well being of our citizens."

It's a short step from this kind of rhetoric to taking military action to improve "energy security". How did Iraqi sand get on top of our oil, anyway?

11. LG my friend, this is the last piece of the puzzle. Those energy
meetings were the war cabinet. They divided up the spoils in those meetings, and planned the middle east wars.
