It's far better to label it "Service Level Adjustment Related Activities," I think.

Per the ABC World News Report that just aired, here is my transcript, per my Tivo:

ABC's John Cochran:

"Internal memos from park service officials warned there may be cutbacks in National Parks, such as closing visitors centers on holidays, eliminating guided tours, and cutting back on days parks are open.

"Washington officials have instructed park operators to downplay the cutbacks.

"...If you feel you must inform the public... on... hours or days of operation... (do not) directly indicate 'This is a cut'... If you are personally pressed by the media... use the terminology of 'service level adjustment..."

There's much more in the broadcast, including outrage from both sides of the aisle, and allegations of park service travel overexpenditures, but one just has to admire the creative, flowery language of the Bush Administration flunkies.

They're not Cuts, they're Service Level Adjustments!!
