Clarke's damning testimony yesterday, his willingness to tell the truth about the damage of the Iraq invasion, or the fact that Bush's continuous attacks on Clarke's character have only served to show what a bunch of weasels they are.
It also has nothing to do with the "press conference" outside the 9-11 Investigation room, after George Tenet's testimony, when Kristen Breitweiser arranged for former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds to talk about what may have been a spy who was deliberating obstructing translations before 9-11...
Or John Ashcroft's attempt to silence her.
The FBI should be answering questions before the 9-11 commission about the claims Ms. Edmonds made, and if they are true, where is that U.S. Major who seemed to be trying to recruit Edmonds and her husband to spy for some group out of Turkey?
I also read a sickening op-ed from Friedman today in the NYTimes. He basically said that terrorists got to choose Spain's govt.
But that op-ed has nothing to do with the fact that the war on Iraq has taken money, time, and military away from the hunt for Al Qaeda, and allowed them to regroup and morph.
You could also argue that if Bush had not wasted the western world's currency on an invasion of Iraq, the Moroccan group would not have been able to attack Spain...but we'll never know that...
