An Excellent Point Someone Made About Howard Dean
I was flipping around just before, and believe it or not, I stopped to watch Neil Cavuto's show on Fox. He had a Democratic strategist on. I think her name was Mary Anne Wabash. But anyway, whoever this person was had a very good point: most people aren't going to read through those pieces about Dean in TIME and Newsweek (and I think US News & World Report). They will, however, as she pointed out, remember his face. That's pretty damn good, because he'll have exposure but a good chance to escape the labels of him being an extreme leftist.

(Not to toot my own horn, but I think I mentioned something similar to thise earlier tonight.)

Jeebus- what must that make me???

And speaking of his face/mannerisms... does anybody else think he has a McCain thing happening?

2. I know he's firmly a Democrat, but not an extremist
However, some people will do anything to convince you otherwise.

How is he similar to McCain?

3. Just a mannerism thing

probably totally subjective... visceral impression- certainly not a matter of philosophy or anything. Maybe facial features, maybe air of... discomfort... around cameras, supporters- dunno, exactly. But when I see Dean on C-Span, I have a flash of McCain.

And, for the record, tho I don't particularly care much for McCain, I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, by any stretch.

ON EDIT: after a brief consultation w/my dear friend Mr. Daniels, the term "everyman" came to mind.

4. LOL!
Some of these people make it sound as if Dean is Castro's brother. He is more to the Right than many of the candidates. He just happens to speak out more.

6. Agreed
Tho my philosophy is more in line with Kucinich or Moseley-Braun, I've gotta give Dean credit for speaking in a manner which resonates with my own thoughts. Someone here (in Kentuck's thread, IIRC) illustrated the way Dean's comments corresponded with his own personal views. I agree completely with the way that Dean's speeches resonate with the average Dem... using myself as the Mythical Average Dem, of course...
