....can you say "Operation Northwoods"?

...and the message we are supposed to understand from you about this Mr. Mueller?.....re-select GWB to show the terrorists we won't "appease" them?.....yeah, right.

1. the terrorists NEED Bush to win, and he needs them
it's kind of a symbiotic relationship.

For the terrorists, nothing better than having in charge of the US a bunch of people who are basically clueless on terrorism, who take the "big stick" approach. This is great for terrorists because what it does is alienate the US from the rest of the world, making it much harder to come up with a coordinated and effective strategy to deal with terrorism. Bush is also a godsend for terrorists in terms of recruiting. Iraq is the prime example.

And of course, Bush would be nowhere without the terrorists.

It's really wrong that terrorists could actually affect an election. Especially since they may get exactly what they want: a second term for Bush.

5. Yup.
It would keep the world divided, inspire more recruits, keep the U.S. wasting enormous resources invading the wrong places. Somebody new might be smarter, unite the world, and focus on the right targets. If Osama decides an attack will help * then it will likely happen.

2. What I don't get is, to me, making statements like this weakens Bush..
not strengthens him because his whole election campaign is predicated on his ability to keep Americans safe. Now, if the terrorists attack, he is proven wrong, if they don't, his admin is wrong in saying they will. It seems to me that anyone with half a brain can see this as a sad attempt to take the media off the 9/11 commission hearing issues.

7. Martial Law ????
Are they setting up, ahead of time, a rationale to declare Martial Law??

Getting the message into everyone's heads, before it "happens?"

Watch for more news like this. It will be a clue.

9. Yep, that is the only thing that makes sense to me as well,
they can use the "threat" to delay the election in November if the poll numbers don't look good. I was wondering how the repub party is going to get out of going to NYC for their convention because, what they thought was a brilliant move when they first chose it, their choice now looks very, very bad.

During George H.W. Bush's presidency in the early 1990s, Mueller headed the U.S. Justice Department's criminal division. During this period, he supervised the "prosecution" of Manuel Noriega, and later headed the fraud investigation of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI).

http://www.legitgov.org/linksPbuddies.html

"We should revisit the history of BCCI, a bank used by the legendary Palestinian terrorist known as Abu Nidal. BCCI was closely tied to American and Pakistan intelligence. Its clients included the Afghan rebels, and the father of Osama bin Laden. The father of bin Laden named Houston investment broker James R. Bath as his business representative in Texas, right after George W. Bush's father became CIA director in 1976. By 1977, Bath invested $50,000 into junior's first business, Arbusto Energy, while Osama bin Laden would soon become a CIA asset. George W. Bush's FBI director Robert Mueller was part of the Justice Department's questionable investigation of BCCI. (On BCCI, the bin Ladens, and the Bushes, see the books, The Outlaw Bank, A Full Service Bank, and Fortunate Son)." Further details of the business and financial relationships between the Bush and bin Laden family are found in Peter Brewton's 1992 book The Mafia, CIA and George Bush. BCCI, incidentally, was founded by a Pakistani."

8. The US democratic convention this weekend...
in Edinburgh would be an ideal attack point, as it is the soft
chewy center to the american left abroad.

I hope MI6 & MI5 are taking security very seriously, more than
AWOL's visit to sedgefield. DOn't expect much from american securtiy
if republicans arn't involved.
