Anyone hear Jerry Bowyer of Pittsburgh talk radio on C-Span say
that he had never heard that John Ashcroft switched to private aircraft in July of 2001 and wouldn't fly commercial? This guy has a three hour talk show on radio and he showed such surprise that he appeared credible about it being news to him. Anyone from Pittsburgh want to share what has appeared here dozens of times in various forms?

2. The right wing radio network in overdrive
limbaugh said yesterday the timing of Clarke's book was suspect, not mentioning the white house held it up, but then he said the government never had the opportunity to look at the book. Then he suggested Clarke consider suicide. Pathetic human beings.

20. Whoa! Wait a minute!
limbaugh suggested that Mr. Clarke commit suicide? Well limbaugh, I don't wish you dead, but I will gladly make you wish you were. What a piece of crap. The stupid bastards cannot handle the truth and it's all coming apart on them.

23. And he said the government never looked at the book?
Clarke has said several times that attorneys looked at it for three months for security breaches before they blessed what was in it.

3. Also: "If it's true it proves prior knowldege".
I don't live in Pittsburgh, but I did hear that segment on C-SPAN. Someone needs to get him the info - the story was well covered on CBS - and then get Bowyer's reaction.

Of course, the White House claimed Ashcroft was getting death threats unrelated to 9-11. But here's another area ripe for real reporting.

5. Jerry is very intelligent and well-read idiot
Edited on Fri Mar-26-04 11:25 AM by rmpalmer
But it is selective reading. Just two weeks ago he went head-to-head against the same station's liberal host Lynn Cullen with another host Doug Hoerth (who's more libertarian and entertainment oriented but disappointed me for so swallowing the WMD crap though since he's backing away from it. He also admires Bush too much for my taste). Jerry's listeners the whole week before when Lynn was on vacation was urging him to destroy her and to "bring it on". I'm proud to say that Lynn held her own in what was billed as the 8-hour blabathon at a local mall, but which someone there dubbed the "Brawl at the Mall". What was interesting was unbidden a crowd showed up and cheered on Lynn which really irked Jerry. He was calling them her "Amen Corner" and implying she had urged them to come (she hadn't).

Jerry is always screaming at liberal callers show me the proof.

At the Brawl he was still touting the Prague connection to Atta/Iraq. I think he got a ton of emails and has somewhat backed off that. You can email him at JerryBowyer@yahoo.com

I was working so I couldn't get there either, but it was great listening.

They're supposed to do another before the election.

8. I was there to witness Bowyer's crap
He also told a real "doozy" of a lie about personal bankruptcies. Lynn Cullen stated that the number of personal bankruptcies was way up since Bush took office. Jerry arrogantly demanded the source of her stats and went on to say that she was wrong, the numbers had declined.

This is typical of Bowyer's BS. He is such a liar. Here is the official Government web site that tracks bankruptcies, and it shows a more than 30% increase in personal bankruptcies since Bush took office.

I can't STAND Bowyer. He lies so much and is always demanding others to cite their sources, but never applies the rule to himself.

15. Lynn should tell him
"absence of evidence is not evidence of absence"...

As for a Pittsburgh meeting (see poster below), would it involve hops and barley?

10. I have always felt sorry for Boyer in a weird sort of way...
He uses all his energy and intelligence to sustain, in his own mind, the illusion that Bush and other Republicans are good for America. I guess all Republicans do that to a certain degree.

9. He said he'd be interested.........
in this if we could prove it. Does anyone have any of the articles to offer the proof to him? I emailed a short article from CBS news.com that was written July 21,2001. It states he quit flying commercial and started flying private planes. He (Ashcroft) said he did not know who decided he should fly private, just that was the word he got. He had no idea why. HA!

11. If that's the article I think it is, it actually refers to an FBI Threat
Assessment as to the reason Asscroft started bilking we the people for his private plane bill.

The next question is, Let's see that Threat Assessment!

Followed closely by, Why weren't 'We the People' given the same courtesy?

16. I sent him a couple more links
I emailed him these two links on the Ashcroft story and suggested he also use the well documented (from mainstream news sources) timeline available on DUer Paul Thompson's www.cooperativeresarch.org web site when trying to track down issues surrounding 9/11.

I also filled him on the late breaking story in Salon about the former FBI translator, Sibil Edmonds, who claimed at a recent press conference that the FBI was well aware of terroist cells and impending hijackings in the months leading up to 9/11 and could have acted on those warnings. She also claims some type of double agents were at work within her department in an effort to sabotage the translation of terrroist intercepts. If you haven't seen this story yet, it's discussed in LBN on the following threads.

22. I watched him talk about how great the economy is, and how
dems are just bad mouthing Bush about it. He mentioned the "6.2% growth rate" Yes, wasn't that downgraded from the original boast of 7.2%? And what about the deficit? He also said unemployment figures were actually good. At first I thought he was a reasonable guy, but after that I realized he was just another limbaugh clone lying through his fat wallet.

18. Sophisticated propaganda approach
Edited on Fri Mar-26-04 07:11 PM by teryang
...with intellectual pretensions. Reminds me of Richard Armitage. He has a few pet lines which sound appealing and sincere to disarm his adversaries but he is, as pointed out above, guilty of polemics, unsubstantiated statements, and selective bias worthy of a Goebbels. That he would summarily categorize and disparage the book reading tastes of the public as being intellectually inferior to his diatribes is at bottom anti-intellectual and contrary to the his alleged respect for political discourse. The man is inferior by far to Kevin Phillips and it is extremely offensive to hear him be so derogatory of this great scholar.

My personal observation is that he has the physical and cultural attributes of a covert government agent. I would be surprised if he isn't the beneficiary of some secret payroll.

His pedantic, supercilious and patronizing attitude is so offensive.

25. I agree about C-Span on Fridays....
and I believe that if C-Span gets their funding from cable companies and if the heavies in the cable business are right wing...it is logical that the right wing has influence over C-Span.
